I got them for my NAS. All the drives were shipped at once and arrived quickly and in good condition. All of them installed perfectly and have been working great, 24/7 for the past few months without a single issue.
My MyCloud runs continuously for years. I replaced one drive last year with a new WD40EFAX. It was a simple procedure and the MyCloud quickly mirrored the good drive onto the new one. Has been running about six months with nary a hiccup.
WD40EFAX drive is a great drive for 24x7 operation in NAS systems. I have owned a WD MyCloud EX4100 (4-bay) NAS for about 5 years now and have only had one drive degrade to the point I needed to replace one disk. After replacing the faulty drive the NAS rebuilt the RAID configuration and I never lost any data. I subsequently purchased a spare WD40EFAX drive in case of another failure. I highly recommend these drive. They are extremely reliable in constant operations.
Have been using WD drives since the early days of the desktop PC. I have always found them to be reliable and a good value. Am using this particular drive model in a 4-drive array.
Was running low of drive space in my two-drive (2TB apiece) RAID NAS. Replaced with two 4TB drives and they are performing perfectly without skipping a beat. Have used a variety of Western Digital drives for YEARS and wouldn't think of changing that practice.
I have always had good success and long term reliability with western Digital, and I will continue to buy and use them.
Haven't had any issues. Western Digital has been a reliable company for hard drives as well as Seagate. These have been a little more affordable for trying to get my budget NAS going. I plan to buy a few more drives when I can.
Great drive that lasts. I put in my second WD NAS because my other one performs so well. I only added this one so I could separate different data. My original Red Drives never have failed.
WD has a good reputation and I've been a customer a long time. This drive worked in the My Cloud EX2 Ultra I purchased at the same time, and I hope it continues doing so.
Hard to rate a new drive. Purchased these two drives because I had one fail, while still under warranty, and I think I'm talking to a chatbox, who won't send me an RMA as promised over a month ago. But the failed drive is a replacement for a MyCloud Ultra II device that failed while still under warranty, which was a replacement for an out of warranty MyCloud device that lasted for about five years.
