Red Apple Cheese Hickory Smoked Bourbon Gouda

I wish I could describe the subtle flavors of the gouda. But, this is so perfectly, expertly blended together, that nothing is overwhelming. I started to stay away from smoked cheeses because you couldnt enjoy the taste of the cheese. This, this is perfection.

This was tasty and a decent price! I bought it for snacks when my sister visited for the weekend and it was a hit.

not very smoky and has a weird flavor. I love smoky cheese and bourbon. this tasted nothing like either. don't waste your money

Meh. Underwhelmed with this. OK - the bourbon hickory got me salivating. In the end it was too bitter, with not enough rounded sweet hickory taste. It just kind of tasted like smelly-socks-blue-cheese-rancid gouda. WHat I have is hickory sauce, and another brand of gouda, and I sliced that up added with some of that lovely hickory sauce, and it was perfection. This particular Red Apple Hickory Smoked Bourbon cheese has just too much zing, and I couldn't taste that lovely creamy gouda edge at all. Even the Great Value gouda is better. THis one was too fancy in the wrong way, for it's on good. I love Gouda, practically grew up on it - real Dutch Gouda from Holland. This is too many cooks spoil the broth Gouda. WIll not buy again. Probably good for people who like canned Macaroni cheese, and teabags from Liptons.

Wish I had read other reviews. I am a lover of all cheeses (even limberger doesn't put me off). This sounded wonderful and that's where wonderful ended. The color and texture are gouda 👍. The taste is very sour and harsh. Somewhere in mid-chew I was reminded of a very young brick cheese. The reviews which say they think of moldy cheese are not wrong and it is the impression that lingers until you cleanse your palate. Stick with a regular smoked gouda, even this brand.

I was very excited about this but it tasted like straight mold!! Threw it away immediately. Disgusting!!!

Negative reviews are all true! I usually by this brand in the smoked gouda but grabbed this one by mistake. HORRIBLE. I also checked the date, which was fine. But that's the taste, like you got expired sour cheese. No smoked flavor at all. Smells and tastes like sour, wet, spoiled cheese.

uggg, this tastes terrible. It is like a soapy, sickeningly sweet taste. Must be some artificial bourbon flavoring that they are using. Probably made with castoreum, but I have no facts to back that up.

The flavor of this cheese is just off. It taste something remotely like a fake banana flavor. we chucked it.

I'm a huge smoked Gouda fan but this is the worst I've ever tasted. The sweetness tastes artificial.
