I bought Red Heart Comfort a month ago and am currently working on a heavily textured crochet square blanket. It has beautiful stitch definition and body. It does not fuzz or split.
I ordered this yarn in both solid and ombre colors. I make prayer shawls for my church and I like to make them with solids, a combination of solids, ombres and a mix of solids and ombres. I am going to have so much fun deciding which combinations to use. The yarn is soft and does not split abd works ip beautifully. Wxcellent selection of colors.
I purchases this yarn for three reasons. 1. It was on sale. 2. It comes in a 12 ounce skein. I3. There are many wonderful colors to choose from. I repurchased it because it is luxurious and easy to crochet. Four skeins made a 60" square afghan that looks great and is great for friends and family gifts, and the community service quilts that I donate to the LA County hospital through St Camillus Church. At such an affordable price I an able to donate twice as much! Thank you, Yarnspirations!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received my Red Heart comfort yarn last week, it is gorgeous! I bought the white yarn with the sparkle for Christmas, I got 4 balls, the yardage is a nice amount, I am sure I can make a beautiful blanket, a few shawls, or other projects that will be fun for the holidays. It looks like sparkling snow. It is so nice and soft I can't wait to work with it :) it feels very nice in my hands. I wish I purchased more of it! I am so happy it is soft; it is hard to work on projects with rough yarn. I am delighted at the softness and I am sure my fingers will agree :) It's so beautiful for such a great price! Thank you Yarnspirations for the inspiration to make lots of nice things, I will have to purchase more of this!
I love all red heart yarn. I have used other yarn from other companies but I always find myself returning to red heart yarn. That is the one I started with when I started crocheting way over thirty years ago.
Nice, thick, colorful yarn. I made a crochet hat with mine and it’s nice and warm in our cold winter climate. I have washed mine and laid flat to dry-it did not shrink or pill up. It’s great for hats, and would probably make a nice thick warm blanket or sweater also.
I've bought several colors of this yarn over the last couple of years. They come together to make the most marvelous, beautiful patterns when worked up. The yarn is substantial and so easy to work with. It's a wonderful value, and the consistent quality makes it an easy choice when making an afghan for sale.
I really like that I can order these items on line as they never have a very good selection at the store. It was fast with no problems and a great selection on colors. I do wish that there would be a discount for buying bulk as I go through a lot of yarn in a year.
The good thing about this yarn is that it's reasonably priced. I crochet afghans for homeless people so I go through a great deal of yarn. And the afghans need to be durable because they get washed every single day. Red Heart Comfort is great for that. I find it easy to work with, too. Worsted weight yarns are actually different thicknesses--they vary slightly but they do vary--and this yarn is nicely thick. What I *don't* like is that it tangles easily when you pull one of the ends from the centre of the ball. About seven out of ten balls get knotted up and you spend far too long untangling and unknotting them and then you think, "I will never, ever buy this yarn again!" And then I do, of course, because it's such good value. In other words, seven out of ten balls are a frustrating experience.
I bought this yarn on-line on sale…no option to touch it. The yarn is not soft at all…very scratchy. Also it seems smaller than 4 weight (seems more like 3). I was disappointed but figure maybe I can double or triple it and make a basket or bag. 😕
