I knit or crochet constantly, often hours in a day and Soft is my go-to yarn for many projects. I always have a couple skeins sitting in my yarn stash. The yarn is soft, true to color and washes and drys well, even in the dryer. I have never had a problem with shrinkage and it stays soft and doesn't pill.
This yarn was much more than I expected, it isn't as soft as yarn was years ago but is so much better than what I have been able to find for the past few years and it is soft enough that I will use it for my own grandchildren. It is a soft cuddly yarn that has a really nice sheen. I make baby blankets for charity so I'm always looking for a bargain and this is it. I recommend this to all crocheters or knitters and plan on ordering more. I really love it.
The pricing on the Red Heart Soft was an exceptional value through Walmart, very exceptional! I priced this yarn at many other places and Walmart was the place to buy it. I saved nearly 50% over other stores. Making it even more exceptional was that I could order it to the store and pick it up, and have NO shipping charges! I am 150% satisfied with the transaction with Walmart and for the value. I would definitely recommend buying the Red Heart Soft from Walmart. This was an online purchase. One more note of interest, it was at the store in a couple of days! Now as to the Red Heart Soft itself. It has a very nice drape and slight sheen. I bought thirteen skeins in thirtheen different colors to knit an afghan of small squares on the diagonal to look as though I used leftover yarns to create it. It works perfectly for the intended project, being soft, having a slight sheen and having a nice drape. Would wrap nicely around a person and be non-irritating to the skin.
I first used Red Heart Soft about a year ago and it is so beautiful and soft. I've used it to make several sweaters, hats, and scarves. This yarn works up nicely and the shininess makes the projects look very professional. I love this yarn and might have way too many skeins of it.
I love how affordable the yarn is and how easy it is to use. it doesn't split and it's the perfect color for making baked goods like cookies, bagels, or cupcakes.
I very recently made an afghan using Red Heart With Love yarn. It came out very well and I gave it as a wedding gift to my grandson and his bride. Then I read descriptions of Red Heart Soft yarn ... and saw messages that said how well it draped and talked about a lovely sheen. So, I decided to chance it and buy it sight unseen to use making the same pattern. This afghan will live in Arizona, so I'm pleased it is lighter in weight than the previous afghan. I will not know how successful this is until it is finished. It feels nice to work with and I have high expectations of a good outcome. P.S. this one goes to a granddaughter who weds in September. My biggest joy is to find that at 80, I can still be enthusiastic and creative. I'm having so much FUN!
This yarn is phenomenal. Everything works up soft and looks factory made. The yarn is so nice Walmart has jacked up the price on the popular colors which is ridiculous. Yarn that used to cost around three dollars is now over five. Michael's usually has two for deals so just a heads up guys.
I wanted an easy care yarn that was inexpensive but softer than Supersaver, so I bought Soft sight unseen. I am very pleased with it. It has a nice texture and a bit of a sheen when worked up. It does tend to split it you don't stick your crochet hook in just right, but I suspect that just goes with the territory. Overall, I am pleased and will definitely buy this again.
The colors are beautiful but to be honest I don't plan on purchasing this particular brand of yarn again. Between the splitting and ball being all tangled up in the center it made it quite difficult. I absolutely loved the pattern and Mikey is the best.
I bought this yarn to make an infant penguin cocoon. The black was almost 3x the cost of some other colors. I didn't mind since it would be "soft". It is soft and feels silky, but isn't twisted much at all. As soon as you touch it, the threads seperate and make it nearly impossible to work with. If it were twisted together better, this stuff would be great. At almost $8 for a SMALL ball of yarn (in black), this stuff is a huge disappointment. Normally I am impressed with the high quality and low price of Red Heart yarns.
