Top Shelf Oil

Red89gt May 5, 2016

I use this trans oil in my 2008 TL & MDX. These model year Acura/Honda's are known for weak transmissions. The Honda brand house oil is not robust enough, RedLine is! I just turned 106k miles in the MDX and it is still running great. I have been running RedLIne products in my cars for 25 years now, great protection and performance.

The Right Fluid for MB 722.6 trans (1999 MB SL500)

m321p April 3, 2016

My dad babies his 1999 MB SL 500. At 90k, I got a P0715 "Turbine/Input shaft speed sensor A circuit" code and it would go into limp mode and wouldn't upshift. I got a new conductor plate and gasket, filter, etc. But the big question was which fluid to use? Redline D4 or the current MB fluid from the dealer MB 736.14. I believe the OEM is Fuchs Titan 4134. I checked the viscosity and emailed Dave at Redline to see why theire website recommended D4 and not Redline D6 since D6 matches the viscosity of the current MB fluid 736.14. His response was: "The D4ATF would be our recommendation in that transmission as the original fluid was a conventional viscosity fluid, the Shell 3403 M115. The 236.14 is a much newer fluid, originally used in 7 speed automatic transmissions." So to simplify the current MB fluid from the dealer which is MB 736.14 approved is a thinner fluid than which the trans came with and was designed for. Redline D4 matches the original fluid viscosity and is the right fluid for 722.6 trans. So I had my trans shop pull change out the conductor plate. While the valve body was out (they need to remove the assembly as the conductor plate is on top of valve body," they shot compressed air to get out most or all of the old ATF in the torque converter. My torque converter didn't have a drain plug, they say you can't drain it. But you can if you shoot compressed air up in there. The car runs better than new and shifts are crisp and smooth. I highly recommend Redline. I use their oils and MTF in my other cars as well. The shop had to reset the trans computer with their Snap On computer. Labor was $456. It used 7 qts of Redline D4.

Great improvement over GM factory fill

RayF June 13, 2015

Tremec TR6060 notchiness/grinding issues are well known at this point. In my case, a 2012 Camaro SS, the transmission always seemed notchy on the one to two shift, especially when it was cold. I could never manage to shift it fast and had to adjust my driving style to avoid the grind. The Redline D4 fluid changed all that. The transmission still feels a little notchy when the oil is cold but not nearly as bad as it was with the factory oil. Once it's warmed up I can bang gears as quickly as I can pull the shifter. It's like a different car now. Thank you Redline and Jegs for allowing me to drive my high performance car like a high performance car.

Priced the same as competitors, but free shipping made my purchase a bargain. It arrived quicker than I expected.

Shifts smoothly

I used this as a replacement for another high-end synthetic brand. Shifts smoothly and works well with no complaints.
