I bought these boots after advice from a stockist who recommended going a whole size down. I have worn worn these for almost 2 years and they have shaped perfectly to my foot. The patina is still developing. A word of advice...don't apply mink oil to these as they darken the leather and you lose the right copper look.
I have had these shoes since 2018 I where them every single day 8 months out of the year. I lotion and oil them twice a year and the leather is broken in and soft. I wear them in construction, polish them a bit. And where them at more formal events as well. My only advice with these shoes is to NOT wear them wet, as in soaked through sopping. It will permanently warp your fit and cuase damage. They dry our fine and never stink but you will feel the difference in fit after.
I bought the copper iron rangers in March of 2021. Loved them so much I bought a second pair (black) in March of 2023 for work. I have since then convinced my friend to buy a pair. Although, I did not have to convince him so much as these boots convince others just by themselves. I have plans on buying a couple more pairs as well. I am looking at getting the green and dark brown pairs. Personally, I am not the kind of person to spend this kind of money on the same product multiple times but...well I will just say...get a pair and you might just make an exception also. These boots are a HORRIBLE experience to break-in. Once they are...they are the most comfortable boots you will EVER wear. They truly mold around your foot like a pair of socks. They are super durable and although people advise against working in them...don't be afraid, they will hold up to construction work. Of course you will need to change out the soles more if you do so though. Not a big deal AND when you get them resoled, if you are using them as a work boot, you can upgrade the soles to a thick tread and make them even more suitable for heavy duty work. The leather is the toughest full grain leather I have ever seen and owned in my life. I have one suggestion to Red Wing though...the laces that come with these boots are so durable and strong and look great. Only problem is, they don't sell replacements and I cannot find laces like these anywhere. Please sell these laces as an add-on for those of us that love them.
I bought these boots as an early Christmas gift to myself. It took me 3 to 4 days to break them in and reduce the new boot stiffness but now they're quite comfortable and have become my go-to shoe this winter. I wear them to work and on weekends. I'm even thinking about another pair in black.
Picked a pair of Iron Rangers up at the West Chester, Ohio store. The craftsmanship, comfort and style makes this far and away the finest pair of boots I have ever owned. Also, the fact that they are made entirely here in the USA is extremely important to me personally. I'm proud to be a Red Wing wearer!
I was ready for the break-in but they feel pretty decent out of the box. I have had the 877 in the past and they took a couple months to break in. these iron rangers are already feeling great but can i tell they are just going to get more and more comfortable. Wearing them all day as a teacher.
This is my 2nd pair & absolutely love these boots. After the break in period, they fit perfect and are extremely comfortable. Had the soles switched out as for my job, the vibram lugs perform much better. Honey soles may not be for everyone but I'm Loving this color combo! Redwing… please make lugs an option!!
I did a lot of research on which boots to buy, and these kept coming up. I love the attention to detail and the features in this boot. I also love the fact that my toes aren't cramped anymore. If you were on the fence before, I wouldn't hesitate if your sizes in stock
The craftsmanship of these boots are absolutely amazing I've been wearing mine everyday for work, hiking,Church and yard work averaging 20 thousand steps a day it is exactly what I was looking for in a boot a boot that I can work in and brush off and go to church in i highly recommend these boots to anyone who wants a high quality heritage boot that can do anything you throw at it
I have had this boot for a little over a year now. It has held up great. I plan on purchasing them in a black or suede color. The break in period was a little rough (about a week) but they are easily on my top 3 most comfortable boots I have ever worn.
