I really like the ease of operation for this. Basically you hold the T-handle and it unfolds by itself. It's almost a one-handed operation not only is it a shovel but it's also a pick axe as well and it does have a serrated side on the shovel that would be great for when running into roots. It's very compact and not very heavy. It does have some weight for sturdiness but very manageable.

This is a quality item at a budget price. I have owned other "cheaper" variations. This came with a good "feel", seemed sturdy. and the machine parts meshed well. This is not the cheap item your paying for. It's well built, steel, and fits well. I bought 2 thinking they would be novelty items. Actually, their pretty darn good. I bought 2 on my first order and after closing this review, I will order 3 more, at this price you can give them away.

Great compact shovel for camping or small jobs around the house. Not too heavy is well built and folds up and goes into an easy to carry pouch. Makes it easy to store!

Perfect for camping and the beach

It will be great to have rhe shovel for camping. It takes up a small small space in our car ! just cannot figure out how to fold the shovel back up . no directions.

This doesn't come with directions on how to secure the handle into useable condition. There is a ring and a piece that looks like it is used to lock the handle into place, but it wouldn't move! Good thing I tried to use it before I needed it!
