Redding French Bakery Extra Sourdough Artisan Style Bread, 24 oz (2 pack)

Since Bimbo Bakeries bought out all of the French Bread Bakeries several years ago, they destroyed the French Bread industry. Someone at Bimbo finally got some brains and resurrected this outstanding true sourdough flavor Fisherman's Wharf Style Extra Sourdough Bread re-using the Redding French Bakery name. My Dad was in the bread business for over 40 years and sold Columbo, United French, and Parisian which were outstanding breads with real sourdough flavor. This Fisherman's Wharf style is the best I've been able to find in many years. It's sad not all of the Walmarts are carrying it though. I found it at the Placerville store, but have been unable to get the Folsom store to start carrying it.

In the past, I bought the more expensive sourdough round, but I am retired, on a fixed income and thought I would try the Redding brand. The texture is good, it's delicious, and I can save a few pennies. I prefer lightly toasted bread for all my sandwiches, and this sourdough is perfect for my needs. It may not be for everyone, but it's pretty darn tasty! I grew up on San Francisco Sourdough bread, and the bread of a generations old Italian bakery in the central valley, which I still buy when I find it at my local farmer's table; THAT is the real deal! Growing up and when visiting my Italian uncle and aunt's ranch, every Wednesday early A.M., the delivery truck would leave three to four, usually still warm, fresh loaves in my uncle's pump house; it barely made it to the kitchen! So, since those days are long gone... the Redding bread is just fine. Try it...

I tried this extra sourdough bread and was pleasantly surprised with the taste and quality for the price. I wanted to find something good enough to keep ordering and I did. Prices overall are higher but this is what I'll stick with. It has an amazing flavor, texture and last a long time. If you are a sourdough person this is something you want to try.

This is the best sourdough bread. It is always fresh. It tastes great purchasing this at Walmart is a wonderful savings. I have this bread in my cupboard as a staple at all times it's great for sandwiches. I make toaster bread out of it and even French toast this bread is truly really good sourdough bread.

I was tired of buying bread that was labeled as sourdough but when I opened, smelled and tasted it I was always disappointed. I Finally found this true Sourdough bread that has that unique smell, astes like it should and is reasonably priced. I highly recommend this bread.

I am always searching for a delicious sourdough bread. I truly lucked out when I tried Redding. One of the best I have ever had. Even better because it is extra sour. I highly recommend this product.

I love this bread! With eggs or as a grilled cheese sandwich with Pepper Jack or as a late night snack toasted with peanut butter and jelly! I might try Avocado toast this week!

This is real sourdough bread: fully developed gluten=wonderful texture=chewy. Great taste. At $3.27 per loaf, that comes out to $2.18 per pound. This is by far the best buy in town for excellent bread.

This bread is very good and I like that it comes in slices. Whenever I have a craving for cinnamon toast that's what I'll order. I wouldn't use this as a stocking stuffer but I'd use it to make French toast for Christmas breakfast!

I'm a real sourdough bread lover and usually stick to a brand that cost almost double the price of this one .. Absolutely love this sourdough bread and it's a great price for real sourdough bread ..
