shades EQ is perfect
Great product
This product was easy to use. I paired it with Redken Shades EQ - Mist (9NV). I have light brown hair with blonde highlights. 1 to 1, equal parts. Applied it to damp hair. It toned down my brassiness. I highly recommend it!
please be sure and read redkens manufacturing instructions before using and have all the necessary tools. My hair came out great, was easy to use, and didn't have a super unpleasant smell. Came packaged with shrink wrap around the product so it couldnt spill.
I've tried many different types of hair colors. Most recently I've been using a Demi permanent from a beauty supply store to blend grays and tone. I've always had issues with how dark colors come out AND brassiness even with Ash tints. I just tried 08N Shades EQ and loved how it turned out. My hair was dry and faded from the beach and this toned and conditioned my hair giving it a healthier natural look (see my before and after pics). I was worried because the color (when applying) looked very reddish but it did not leave a heavy red undertone. It also blended grays much better than the brand I had previously been using. I will definitely play around with the levels and continue to use!
I don't know how to rate this by itself, but I'll give it a go. This is the EQ Gloss version of developer. I began using this to tone down the red in my natural hair, as traditional toner (using developer) lightens hair, and therefore has a tendency to bring out the brassiness. I have been using this in place of traditional toner for at least 6 months, and it's okay. It doesn't last very long and tends to disagree with my very fine hair. I was hoping that it wouldn't be damaging given its nature, but ALAS, it may be worse than the Pulp Riot toner I'm accustomed to. I've been using (Olaplex) purple conditioner in the interim, and it seems to be doing the majority of the heavy lifting. Their shampoo does not agree with my non-color treated hair. In essence, this product works, but it is very temporary. I find myself at a crossroads between investing a lot more time, money, and effort into my hair than when I was platinum, or giving up and learning to live with my natural color.
I received the liquid processing solution instead of the gel pictured in the listing. No Response from seller. Returned the product. Also, seller sent a note asking the;t next time I buy from them directly and not through Walmart.com...hmmm........
