I was hesitant in purchasing these after hearing they are stiffer this year. They are the the absolute opposite so soft! I have worn ASICS and specifically nimbus for countless number of years. I was tempted to switch to brooks glycerin which also soft however felt more snug around foot like tight sock. I am so glad I stuck with Nimbus and this new model one looks sharp and two more importantly is most comfy and breathable shoe I have ever worn. Note: I am stay at home dad and wear this shoe daily for errands, walks, and just everyday shoe.
From the moment I put these on I could tell they were going to be more comfortable, and they sure were. Great support if your pronation is neutral (pronation is the action of your foot rolling inwards or outwards on landing). Great quality as always. These are my second pair and my first pair lasted me 4 years and still going strong.
My favorite shoes ever! I have had so so many complaints! Also very comfortable shoes... Wore them multiple times all day long.
I have worn Nimbus since almost the beginning. I am a faster runner who tends to spend less time on the heal with more time in the midsole and toe. My usual wear out point was on the outer midsole as I would take the tread material down to the next material in just a few hundred miles. With the improvement made in the 21, I am not wearing down the midsole. Of course Asics may not sell me 6 pairs of shoes/year now but I am quite happy with the fit, feel and performance that I am now getting. The attached photos show a 20 and 21 with approximately the same number of miles on them.
I've been wearing Gel Nimbus for about a dozen years, but bailed out after the 19s. Always found the uppers to lack durability. But the 21s have won me back.
These are my ultimate favorite model, they are so comfortable and roomy in the toe box unlike other models. Close to Nimbus 19 model. The shock absorption is amazing. I have plantar fasciitis, work in a gym standing for hours at a time and also walk a lot and my feet don't hurt. I own 10 pairs of Nimbus 21 in different colors.
I bought this shoe and the Cumulus 21 at the same time (ordered online). I love them both, but there are differences. This shoe, the Nimbus 21, fits a bit tighter than the Cumulus. I believe the Nimbus is more narrow, and the other is wider. Both are size 8. I have a wider foot, so the Cumulus fits me better, but if your foot is more "normal" or even narrow this Nimbus is what you want. Really great looking shoe as well. I believe this one, the Nimbus, has more cushion in it, I feel a touch taller wearing them, haha. But for running that cushion is really wonderful.
Love the durability and support I feel when I wear these sneakers. They do give me a god two inches of height which is odd, but not a bad thing. Not heavy, just a lot of shoe so it's a good but interesting transition from a lighter workout shoe such as a Nike.
Shoes are comfortable. Not a fan of the red and white shoestrings.
I've been wearing ASICS for twenty odd years as the fit to my foot is great and the 2E is always that, a proper broad forefoot fit. These, however, have been a HUGE DISSPPOINTMENT! I've barely done 200kms in them and the forefoot sole on both is almost worn through. As I normally get three to four times that distance out of a shoe I'm bitterly disappointed in the pathetic wear tolerance on these. Absolutely NOT worth the money.
