The candy itself is amazing, it’s great no issues. But what I do take issues with are these crazy marketing and advertising schemes. I like to buy the 4 ounce box mainly because of the price $1.24. I get that packaging can dictate profit or loss to some extent , the cost to manufacture it, it’s shape and size or mass and what kind of space it’ll take up in shipping or on a retail shelf. is it renewable, biodegradable, pliable or rigid if it has a mat or gloss finish, does it hang on display or sit on a shelf ? Just some of the many things that can contribute to costs that may be deferred onto me the customer and is part of the system and I get it but the example I’ll give you is taking things to far and it’s not only happening with this product it’s a tact employed across the board to increase profits. Now I also get bulk buying or buying power, the more you buy the cheaper it can be. Sometimes But not here. There is a different price per ounce for each package but it’s not necessarily more cost less, the prices are all over the place . And I am only discussing price as they relate to Walmart, in store and online, no third party.. A 39 ounce bag $14.84 which is 38.1 cents per ounce A 35.7 ounce bag is also $14.84 which is 41.6 cents per ounce A 9oz bag is $4.98 which is 55.3 cents per pound. There are more examples but the most egregious is the 4.8 ounce bag which cost $2.98 bringing the per ounce total to a whopping 61.3 cents per ounce. Almost doubling the cost of the 4 ounce box at 31.0 cents per oz , for the same exact product, one in a box, one in a bag, one sitting on a shelf, one hung from a display rod. Now would a car dealership stay in business or not make the news? If they had two identical cars, one selling for double the cost of the other on the same lot? I’d like the commission from selling the more expensive of the identical models. Many of us never even check to compare prices.
I liked this candy every since it came out in the 80s when E.T. was first showing at the theater, and the candy was in the movie . Elliot the kid use the candy on the ground to follow a trail of it to get E.T. to come in the house 😂 the people must like them for the candy to still be thriving after all this years. I know I do!
When in the hospital, my cousin was given some of these little bites to help compensate for not being able to “light up” a cigarette. He said these pieces of chocolate and peanut butter were addictive. Now every time I go into a store, I pick up several packs of these for him. He no longer smokes, but has a new two box a day craving for these sweet treats. His doctor says they have saved his life!
Delicious candy. Think of M%26Ms filled with peanut butter instead of chocolate. In a box about the size you'd find at a theater, as advertised. A tad pricey, but delicious candy: the right mix of sweet and just a little crunchy. Bonus: as of this writing, this box is actually the best value: you pay cheaper per ounce with this box than with the bag.
These are AWESOME!! Just like in the movie ET, these candies are still wonderful today, peanut butter in a crunchy shell candy!! This size is the movie theater size and are great to enjoy at the theater or if you are at home watching a movie or ballgame!! I’m pretty sure they - like m and m’s - don’t melt in your hands and smell and taste wonderful!! A great purchase!! Thank you Reese’s and Walmart!!
Reese's pieces are basically nectar of the gods. This particular boxes about the best value for money and I'm a big fan. The only issue I had was they were a little banged up, but the box was fine. I'm guessing they got hot and a little melted at some point and then solidified again. But that is a very small nitpick and otherwise I love them.
Even ET knew about this candy. Still great to sneak into movies for %261.00 vs $9.99 Love the crunchy shell with the taste of a Reese's peanut butter cup inside. WARMING: like a wise potato chip, it's hard to eat just one! GE
I clicked on yes that I would recommend them but me being diabetic I shouldn't eat them but because I'm controlling my blood sugar way better than I used to I might snack on these a little maybe a handful or so at a time but it's difficult to eat only that many.
I paid $1.48 a box last week, yesterday they were on sale for $1 a box from the store, today someone wants $7.99 a box ..... people stop buying from resellers for these insane prices and simply wait for the store to have it at a reasonable price. learn to go without instead of paying 8xs the amount for a product. I get trying to make money, but that markup is insane. I love Reese's Pieces, but I will go without them until the store has them back in stock at the full price of $1.48.
The price has gone up too much to buy
