This is a magnificent hand drum. The African Djembe in general is a great hand drum with deep bass and sharp teks (high pitch). Remo's shell and headskin are absolutely wonderful. The quality is first rate and the tuning is mechanical and easy (a tuning key is included). For best quality sound, do not place the drum on the floor (though Remo attached a protective high density rubber at the bottom ring). It's best to have a shoulder strap or to place the drum at your lap. You can also buy rubber feet to keep the shell from touching the floor. Highly recommended.
