Very Difficult, falls apart and doesn't work
Bought this for my 1st grade son who wanted to do a science fair project on the Curiosity Rover. He wanted to build a model. My son is 7 and can build large Lego sets with thousands of pieces, no problem. This product is extremely difficult to put together. I had to do the entire thing myself. The instructions aren't very good. The pieces come apart very easily. The slightest touch and something falls off. The gears do not work. Only one side of the rovers wheels actually move. BUT, the rover didn't actually move. The arm lever moves, but then the gear the controls the front wheels moving side to side did not. When you push the front wheels gears together, they will move, BUT then the arms levers dont connect and do not move. This product is a piece of junk. Don't buy. I feel bad for my son. He was hoping to demonstrate the rover and pick up small rocks. No the rover will just sit and not do what it was intended to do.

May need help but wonderful building experience
A little over the head of the 8 year old but his Dad and he bonded while putting together. One of the "favorites" for Christmas. Sturdy and time consuming .... which is exactly what I had in mind!

Glad that we bought it
My 8-y-o son loves working on it and building a different machine every other day. It is also a great occasion for team building with his dad!
