This is a really good solar panel when you can get it on sale. Renogy ships the panel in a very sturdy box. The top and bottom of the box are held closed with tabs and the ones on my box were coming open upon delivery. It would help if the tabs had some tape reinforcement. These panels will put out over 100 watts in good sunlight and the quality of the build is very good and sturdy. It was also nice that the installation brackets were included.
Normally I won't write a review until I have had sufficient time to test everything... Well I couldn't wait as these panels impressed me so much. Right now I have these mounted low to the ground in a very bad spot to catch light.. Especially at later daylight hours. This will be fixed once I aquire the extended mc4 cables I need to put these panels on the roof of my solar house. Long story short the sun set at 9:12 pm and the panels still output power u till 9:45 pm. Completely sold on these now and plan to Construct 33 panels for the house and if we get and EV will need to add significantly to the panel stockpile. These are worth the price to me and I'm glad these were in my first batch of test panels. Under full light at 80 degree angle(bad angle but only doing tests and not quite ready to build the roof solar array which will sit at 25 degree summer and 37 in winter) these panels were giving me 98% efficiency. Also I'm at the 46th parallel which is almost too high for the easy angle math.
This is a quality panel! My tests have matched the specs advertised. I purchased 4 to start my system and now a fifth to make 500 watts to complete my setup. Thank you Renogy for making this high efficiency panel available!
Working as advertised, 22.5 amps total for the 4 panels in full sun and tilted to perpendicular to the sun. The Adventurer power controller works as expected also. I was quite pleased to discover that the Eclipse PV array supplies 5-6 amps in light shade or on bright but cloudy days and even a few amps on heavy overcast and rain. Overall, I think that they will do the job to help keep the 300 ah of lithium batteries up to full charge. After initial trials, the system is doing its job and there are no shortcomings so far where the generator, power converter and engine alternator are all playing nice together. This was one of my major concerns in designing the system. It is a bit of a challenge though keeping the panels clean this time of year (June) here in the northeast, with tree pollen, debris and caterpillar droppings mixed with rain makes for a nice crusty mud if left to dry on its own. But this will soon be over.
I'm impressed with these solar panels. I have installed the two 100 watt panels which are part of an off grid system I put together will Renogy components. I completed the install on a cloudy, overcast day and the panels were charging my battery!
Adding five Eclipse panels to the roof of our Airstream was a game changer for us and just in time to head to Alaska for summer. Our only regrets are not making the investment soon and only initially installing five panels. We'll be adding more soon. The Eclipse panels been solid performers and worth every penny.
Very nice solar panels !!! They look good, are high quality, and right size for mounting to roof of RV or trailer. They are installed and performing well. I expect they will last longer than the vehicle !!!!
Have not as of yet installed these panels, however if they are anywhere as good as the other 25 renogy panels I have purchased in the past I shall be very pleased with this purchase also
The last two panels are almost perfect for this order with the exception of the missing silicone sealant un the underside. My first two panels that I just purchased had the sealant but had dents in the underside layer of white plastic that sealed the cells. Quality control is still a bit wonky for renogy but otherwise, the panels work as intended... for now. I will seal the two newest panels myself with silicone to avoid the hassle of having to send them back to renogy. I still recommend Renogy for all of their products including the eclipse modules.
one of the panels was shadered when i opened it
