I purchased this product as a test. I have researched a lot regarding solar and decided on this particular unit. My goal is to use this to charge the LifePo4 battery box I have built. Both items for remote/portable Amateur Radio Operations. Not so much for backpacking as these are weighty but for off grid and power outages use.
After running out of battery power on too many dry camping trips, we decided to invest in the 100w 12v solar suitcase. It came on time, has a quality protective case and is easy to set up and use. In just a couple of hours in mixed clouds and sunlight, our battery was up to full and ready to go after being being at about 50% charge. The Voyager control panel is easy to use, the Voyager control panel is easy to set up and the connection clips seem high quality. I am really impressed with this system and am looking forward to next spring when I can get out on the road again and charge up the battery with my Renogy.
Purchased this to help extend our time in our trailer when not hooked up to power. Easy to use but be sure if you need extensions you get a PAIR as their is a neg and a positive conductor. Also you need to make sure your battery connection is the correct polarity, but his is easily determined. Overall very happy with the options and capabilities of the controller and the panels
This system is easy to set-up and use. I charged our RV engine battery and then coach battery in less than 8 hours. I then used it to charge our tractor and lawnmower batteries. The system will get its first test on a boondocking trip in a couple of weeks. Very pleased with this system!
It worked as designed even though we had cloudy days. It would benefit from stouter alligator clamps but they still kept contact. Looking forward to my next boondock maybe in sunny weather.
We used it with our pop up and the panel charged our battery and provided power to our furnace so we could boondock in desert! The set up was fool proof and I didn't have to worry about over charging
Not done evaluating...but so far I am happy with the system...Great carrying case and setup is easy. Haven't tested output completely yet but preliminary setup seems to get good output in good sun.
I was looking for something to travel with and charge multiple things when we stopped. This product is extremely heavy and bulky and not what I was looking for.
It's nice that there are smaller, I haven't had them long enough to know exact ability to produce in the shade
What I purchased base on the advertised item (2-200watt solar panels ) wasn't what I received. I received a 100 watt foldable panel. Turn back item immediately at the local Walmart. This is totally unacceptable. Renogy needs to get there act together.
