different dimensions if using with older panels

Williams July 29, 2022

the panel is excellent, but, beware it is slightly a different dimension that the original 200 watt panels we purchased over a year ago....we had to do some tweaks to get it to fit into our 2-year old assembly (we set it up so we could upgrade and add panels later...these wouldn't snap in like we'd hoped because of the different length).....just something to be aware of if you are buying one to pair up with older Renogy panels.

Right size, right price.

Jim November 30, 2020

This panel fits a niche. 2 x 300 + 1 x 200 yields under 100V open circuit. Each panel having about the same current rating, this is a perfect match for the Renogy charge controllers that are limited to 100V PV input. For example, the Rover 30 Li or Rover 40 Li will handle these three panels in series in a 24V system, for an inexpensive powerful configuration.

Great panel. Wrong one for me. Traded it.

Dan from Oregon September 1, 2022

The person on Craigslist that I traded it to for their RV loves it. I ordered the 200w/27v panel to charge my Ego batteries through my Ego Nexus power station with Ego inverter. Only problem is my inverter only handles up to 22v. Was a long process, but I now have a 100w/12v panel that works ok. Really needed the 200w for my needs, but I'll find another one and “upgrade”.

Works but only got 255w

MNWALMART June 4, 2025

Highest output in direct sunlight was around 250 watts. It almost needs to be 500w panel and then it would give you closer to the rated 400W. Not sure what conditions youd need better than direct sunlight to achieve the advertised 400 watts.

A heavier than expected, inefficient unit.

V December 6, 2025

Produced scarcely any meaningful output, particularly when a bargain-bin, no-name panel performed better under identical placement. Its weight-to-wattage ratio is markedly inferior to competing units, and it unfolds into a cumbersome footprint nearly twice that of unbranded alternatives offering the same wattage. Altogether, a heavier than expected, inefficient unit.

Defective?

SolarShopper July 21, 2025

This 400w solar blanket would only draw 191w in direct sun. My other 400w solar panel (not a Renogy) was drawing 410w. Either the manufacturer grossly overstates the product's ability, or I received a defective item. The box looks as if it has already been returned at least once. I would not recommend this item to anyone.
