Efficient panel even in Midwest Sun

Ben J October 6, 2021

In Michigan Sun this panel outputs an average of 5amps at about 18.5 volts which is about 93 watts, This would probably be over 100watts closer to the equator or out west. This is plenty of charge for me to live in my Rav4 by powering a compressor cooler, charging my laptop, phone, and some other small electronics.

100 Watt Flex Panel

Lorin September 30, 2020

Impressive output even on cloudy Seattle days. Easily carried along for reliable power anyplace. Have been running a Dometic CFX3 for over a week from a 55 ah battery kept charged by a single 100w panel. Cold drinks at the hot springs!

Just what I needed

Freebird Overlanding August 19, 2021

I bought the Renogy 100 watt flexible solar panel to put on top of my Freespirit Recreation Odyssey RTT. It fit perfectly. It powers my ARB 50qt fridge and keeps it at 34° even in the Mohave desert during the day. I am so happy with this Renogy 100 watt solar panel, I plan on buying another one very soon so I can run an inverter. You will not regret buying this Renogy solar panel.

Flexible solar panel

NM Camper November 3, 2022

We'll made and versatile panel. I have a small trailer with limited roof space for panels. I placed this on the curved front end with a few cords. Stood up in 35 mph winds and worked perfect. Still not sure if my solar ready trailer's controller will work with it (not damage battery) but it was fine for a few days while camping off grid.

Overall good output and looks well made.

Andrew July 8, 2022

Had the panel for 16 days but only used it for charging 8 times. In direct sunlight at a direct angle with the sun, it sends out 84 watts. You will never get 100 watts on any 100 watt solar panel. It is similar to when you buy 2" X 4" lumber stud; it is only 1 1/2" X 3 1/2". So I am satisfied with 84 watts. It is very flexible. I would speculate bending it too much would damage the solar cells. This is why for my application (residential use) a wooden frame was fabricated for stability and ease of transporting to direct sunlight. Also put eye hooks around the wooden frame sides so it can be hung. See pictures. It fully charges a WattFun 500 watt hour solar generator from 80% to 100% in about 3 hours. It doesn't say in the product information that it comes with a connecting wire for a solar generator but there was one in the box. Speaking of the shipping box, it was well packed and protected. The output wires from the panel are very short and you will most likely need an extension for them. Thinking of buying another one and use both to get 168 watts of power. Will update if experience any problems.

Panel looks great, very well made. Came quickly and was well packed. Haven't had a chance to use it yet but expect it will live up to expectations.

100w flexible panel

IH April 5, 2022

The panels themselves look and work great. Only gripe is the grommets are not placed very precisely. They seem to have been placed by just eyeballing it instead of using a template/jig. In direct sunlight my two 100w panels were producing 12.8amps. Overcast with snow flurries they produced about 8 amps.

Rae 1. August 29, 2018

I replaced 6 HQST supplied flexible panels with Renogy units. The HQST panels were poor quality and average life of a panel - for me - was about 18 months. The Renogy panels have been installed for a few weeks and are working well. They generate the expected power at my 48 degree latitudes and sailboat application. They seem to run at a cooler temperature than the old ones. The panels are very thin and very light. Weight is important to me. The panels feel a bit fragile, but with a 20 year power warrantee the supplier thinks they will last and I should be covered if they don't. A prior set of four flexible panels had lasted over 10 years, before I replaced them with more modern panels with power output boosted nearly 4 times. Hopefully the Renogy panels will have a similar long life.
