When I first got the product, I noticed that the heat output was not consistent. It did not heat the entire surface area evenly. The timer is not accurate as well. You have a choice of 30, 60, or 90 minutes but I noticed after about an hour it would shut off. There's no button for consistent on. I don't use that that much however, it would've been nice to have that option sometimes . When I went to use the heating pad after using it the day prior, I noticed it wouldn't lay flat. When I went to straighten it out that's when I noticed it was melted. I thought that maybe I spilled or got something sticky on it. But what had happened was it melted from the inside and was stuck together because of that. Once it was straightened out, I noticed there was a small hole straight through the inside plastic part. Around the small hole in the plastic, the fabric was burned and charred with a bigger area around it where it initially tried to catch fire. Since I did purchase a warranty, I contacted Walmart who uses Allstate for their warranty. Because the product was less than a year old, it was still under the manufacturer warranty. Allstate made the initial contact to the manufacturer for me. Renpho was quick to respond via email and instructed to stop using the product immediately. They instructed me to provide verification of the product, along with pictures of the defect. I have emailed them four times with the requested information, each time they claim to have not received the information that was requested. Any email sent with the proof of purchase and pictures of the burn, they claim to not receive. If I an email them without the information requested, they will respond stating that they had not received the requested information in order to proceed . After I sent an email stating that they will no longer respond to any emails. I have reached out to Allstate to whom stated that they will contact the manufacturer on my behalf. I am still currently waiting for a response from either of them. The correspondence has been going on since March 15. It is now April 1. I do not understand why all state will not just honor the warranty. All I want is a replacement or a refund due to the defective product. I do not recommend this product. Honestly, I would prefer a refund because I am worried that this will happen again and potentially catch fire this time.
