This is a really good set. The metal bar is sturdy though I wish it was slightly longer. If you put 2x 5.5 lb plates and 2x 4.4 lb plates on one side, the collar doesn't always go completely on the bar which could be a hazard. There is a great variety of loading available - 4 sets of 4 different plates to mix and match to tweak your weight. They have used concrete weights which is generally fine, but I ran into an issue or two. One of my larger weights leaks concrete dust; I'm not yet sure how to repair the seal. If I cannot fix the problem, I may need to replace the set while under warranty.
The Good: They're weights and it is COVID, soooooo. The bar is definitely long enough to accommodate the weight plates, so that's a positive. Shipping was also relatively fast, especially compared to most of the stuff on Amazon. The Bad: The weights are not precise. 5.5 lbs - well, more like 5.3-5.4. 4.4, more like 4.1-4.3, and so on. No single plate is the same weight. One could argue that the weight of the bar may offset the weights being slightly below the number indicated in lbs and kgs, but the bar is not at all heavy, and the weights are not equal among plates of the same denomination, so having the loss equal to the weight of the bar just wouldn't make sense as the intention of the maker. If you are looking for extremely precise weights, this is not the set for you. They are filled with something (I think a mix of powders). Precision is probably more likely with iron plates. The Ugly: They came dirty, with residue from the filling on them. They looked like they had been in someone's basement for several years. Is it worth it? If you don't care about looks, and the inaccurate (but near accurate) weight amounts aren't a problem, then this set is a great option for skipping the gym and working out at home. At first I was really annoyed that the plates were inaccurate, but the difference isn't huge, and for my purposes (to keep in shape when the gym is closed or packed after reopening), this set is perfectly fine.
I got weights for my home gym because of quarantine and honestly they are a really good addition. They are accurate when ur comes to the weight and they overall is really good condition. I was worried in the beginning that one of them was cracked because i saw a rock but it was fine. I just wish the caps on the side were better quality but other than that it is a pretty good item.
My only concern was in the packaging. It was rather flimsy, but to my surprise there was no damage to the contents.
Came dirty and rod was broken
Missing two locknuts to lock weights. So only one side is usable
