Replacement Part Kenmore Sears Replacement 1010A Garbage Disposal Splash Guard, Black

This item appears to be made of heavy-duty rubber and it fits my Kenmore disposal perfectly. It not only stops water and debris from ejecting out of the top of the disposer when it's in use, but drastically reduces the disposal noise compared to my old, torn-up splash guard. However, be aware that installing it requires removing the disposal so you'll need to know how to disconnect the drain pipe(s) and be able to muscle it back up on to the sink mounting bracket when you're done. A small stool or box to set the disposal on when it's removed can help with this process.

The quality is good, just make sure you have measured for the right size! Unfortunately, I did not. Made very well.

VERY EASY TO REPLACE. IF YOU HAVE EVER LOST A FORK, SPOON, OR KNIFE DUE TO THE OLD ONE BEING TORN AND WORN OUT, YOU'VE WILL BE GLAD THAT YOU REPLAQCE3D IT. PLUS IT CUTS OUT THE NOISE OF THE DISPOSTALL WHEN IT IS RUNNING.

It ws delivered quickly, fit perfectly, and it was resonably priced. Who could ask for anything more?

Fit my Kenmore 175.605540 perfectly, after I figured out that the splash guard needed to be pushed down firmly onto the neck of the disposal (originally had it sitting on top, but nothing held the disposal to the sink, as the lock ring just slipped over the disposal neck). It's this splash guard that gets compressed between the lock ring and the flange on the disposal neck, that holds the disposal to the sink bottom. Water drains extremely slow through the splash guard, so I cut slits between the vertical parts and the lower flaps, to allow the guard to open wider and easier. Also snipped a bit off the lower flaps (1/8”). Now the water drains nicely, and the guard still does its job.

Completely restored my garbage disposal.

Would have been great, but it did not fit. Too big.

After my husband went through all the effort of removing our disposal to replace this part, the darn part was too big to align properly in our sink. We ended up having to put the old part back on to reinstall our disposal.

This product didn't fit on my kenmore garage disposal. It's cheaply made and I don't recommend it. However, Walmart was great and refunded me.
