Reptile UVB Light Bulb 5.0

I purchased these bulbs for my cockatiel. They give off the exact UVA rays that is needed for their health and optimal growth. These were the most affordable on my budget and they work great. I use a spot lamp, attach it to their cage and it works wonders.

The light started working right away. I can always tell when it's time to change the UVB bulb because when the new one is turned on there is a huge difference in light output. I make a habit of changing the UVB bulb once a year. My tortoise uses it half the year and then he hibernates the rest of the year so I get six months out of each bulb. If he didn't hibernate I would buy two of these a year because they really only do their job for 6 months at a time. One of the things Indoor tortoises need UVB for is to aid digestion. So if your little guy isn't pooping, try changing the light and see what happens. A heat lamp alone is not sufficient.

im satisfied with this bulb. My turtle enjoys it and its cheaper than pet stores.

1. no turtle can get out of 2inch depth. which i did not see when ordering 2. stsirs were n I t made the width of standard bix turtle. poor guy got stuck. 3.dish is in the trash!!
