In Northeastern Washington hornets can be a problem. Wasps are also bad but hornets can be very aggressive. I'm not sure this product the best thing in the whole world but it works. We got so many white face hornet queens 2 year ago very late in the fall. We stopped trying to count at 12- at one time in one trap. Since then, we've seen very few. That late season catch was all I needed to see to keep using the WHY traps. I hope you have just as much luck with them.
We live in the mountains and have "mean yellow jackets" every spring through summer. After buying the W-H-Y Wasp, Hornet, Yellowjacket Traps and setting the stinky traps out in early spring our bee problem has decreased dramatically! Thank you!
I put this out when it first starts getting warm and I usually catch the queen. I really cuts down on the wasps and yellow jackets around here.
This product is superb with the European hornets that seem to be prevalent this year, though I had to place it away from my honey bees because there were several casualties before I did.
I bought this after I saw all the yellow jackets and wasps at my hummingbird feeders, it started to catch them slowly so I added some hummingbird nectar as it evaporated out it was amazing you can actually see them swarm and go in it when it is place where the sun warms it up, I placed them in the flower beds too, within 2 weeks they were full I had no idea I had that many yellow jackets around my house, have recommended it to everyone I know
This stuff is awesome. We have to refill every three weeks or so. So buy a bunch at one time to have on hand. But as soon as we refill it, we catch at least 20 that day. We have two traps. And having these traps makes being outside more pleasant without these pests bothering us.
We used these at our old house and caught a ton of wasps and yellow jackets. Haven't caught a thing at our new house. Don't know if they've changed the formula or if the wasps here just aren't attracted. The wasps and yellow jackets would not leave our hummingbird feeders alone, so we just took them down. Thought maybe with those down they'd go to the trap. Still nothing caught. I hate to give less stars because they have always worked so well for us in the past.
I have seen this product in the store for a number of years now and was always hesitant to purchase it as it is expensive and I wish that I had not bought It. I followed the instructions to the letter and was surprised to find nothing in it after a whole week and only 25 feet from an active nest! My recommendation is Walmart pull this item from the shelves because it leaves the customer feeling swindled. Wish I could go into the negative area with the rating on this Item. One star is five times more than this item deserves.
I'd love to review this item I bought on March 5th but it's now March 29th and it has yet to arrive and the company is allegedly in my same state
product did not function!
