I couldn't be happier with my new iPad Mini with Retina Display! It's easy to set up, easy to use (almost addictive, really!), the graphics are stunningly detailed, terrific camera and quality built all the way. It may be a bit pricey, but the extra cost is well worth it for something like this that will be used so frequently. The light weight makes it very easy to hold with one hand and the screen is very responsive to either fingers or a stylus. Apple has hit another home run!
I had the first generation iPad mini, but when the iPad mini Retina was announced, I have to have it... The specs was great. I like the first Gen. iPad mini except for the fact that it did not have the retina screen... So this one is a lot faster than the first iPad mini...So I'm enjoying this one and I think I'm going to hold on this one a little longer because it's perfect.
Bought this for my boyfriend for Christmas. So I could get my IPad back from him. It worked! He loves it & uses it until it needs recharging. I had hunted for a good Android tablet but could not find totally good reviews on any of them, no matter what the price. So I went with what I knew was top quality & that worked straight out of the box. Sure the cost is tough, but I knew it would work right without having to take it back to fix it. And I ( and my boyfriend ) was not disappointed.
I bought this because of the new Apple ads about what you can do with an iPad. It's fantastic. Make sure to download all of the free Apple apps and buy a stylus. There are a bunch of apps that are better than iPhone, so it's not just a bigger version of the phone.
I have a Macbook Pro, an IPhone 5, and many other electronics (Smart TV, gaming desktop, etc.) so I wasn't sure if I "needed" (or wanted) this item. However, I had been eyeing IPads for about 6-8 months now and was about to bite the bullet on an IPad 2 and read that the new IPad Mini w/ Retina was a better option. I was nervous that the smaller screen would have limitations (movies and videos) however, that is NOT the case. I couldn't imagine having an IPad Air or anything with such a large screen. It's hard enough to type on the mini! :O I do not have super small hands, either. There is a learning curve with the typing. The only complaint I have is the *price*. Whilst I understand that Apple is known for its pricier options, there are many other tablets out there with similar functionality for much less. If you are worried about finances, look at the Google Nexus. However, I prefer the IPad. :-)
I love this device! Every bit an iPad, just compact and easy to carry! The speed of the processor and screen resolution of the retina are amazing. It way outdoes the model from 2012! I was surprised Walmart had it available for order opening weekend! Ordered on a Saturday, it shipped on Monday, was in my hands Wednesday. Can't beat free and quick shipping, and the iPad is amazing too.
I bought a cheap tablet thinking I would save me money. But I talked to a Walmart employee who worked at the electronics, they told me I would like the iPad mini 2. I'm hoping it will last awhile as I'm on a fixed income. I need a tablet because I order online and research a lot of subjects. I pay bills online so having a reliable tablet is very important to me.
An iPad mini! Need I say more? Well, if I must, I have to say that it is easy to use and the videos and photos are clear and crisp. The App Store has thousands of free apps. You can download books, magazines, and brochures for iBooks and Newstand. Also, I enjoy being able to highlight, underline and define the text. It's great for students like myself. There are many apps that allow you to create documents, letters, spreadsheets and take notes. Overall, this is a great product. The price is high but the device more than makes up for it. If your an apple user this is the next tablet for you. If you are new to the Apple game, than you may want to start out with a less expensive tablet. But, if you like jumping right in, this tablet is for you. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
It is a bit of a chore to get the user guide and setting up the ipad can be a bit frustrating. But once it is done (finally...whew!!) and you learn how to download apps from itunes, and initiate the email feature, the ipad mini is a lot of fun and easy to use. But it is a learning experience so be prepared to give it the time and energy needed.
The best way to compare two similar products is to buy both, and then test them side by side. There is a difference but it's barely noticeable. I compared the two screens using this 2560x1600 picture: http://www.free-hdwallpapers.com/wallpapers/architecture/56821.jpg From a glance, the quality on both tablets is the same, but if you look closely, and I mean you actually have to look really close, then and only then will you see the differences. The Retina display helps you see the details, in a clear sharp image. These details, however, you wouldn't notice unless your eyes were 3 inches from the screen. I then compared the two playing 1080P trailers from Youtube, making sure both were set to their maximum resolutions. I did not notice a difference between Retina's 1080p from Youtube vs the normal iPad Mini w/o Retina display which maxed out at 720p on Youtube. Don't get me wrong, these are amazing tablets, but unless you have the extra $100 to spare, I'd go with the normal iPad Mini w/o Retina display. The quality of the images even without the retina display was still superb.
