Restored GE 8,000-BTU 115V Ultra-Quiet Window Air Conditioner with Remote, White (Refurbished)

Decided on this GE AC because of rating for noise. Just got the thing in the window early today and you can hardly hear the thing running. It is in the bedroom and sweet dreams tonight!! The neighbors will love it too, as you can't hear it outside at all. It is right above our screened porch and no background noise. The vents are aimed up so the breese will not freeze you out with the unit near the bed if used in a bedroom. Great design and looks good in the window. Installation was easy with easy to follow instructions.

Very much satisfied. Overall good product. I recommended.

Super quiet and cools our back room study with our computers and electronic equipment. The vents tilt upwards creating currents of circulating air and don't blow into your face. The controls are simple to use and as a Senior Citizen, I was even able to install this unit myself.

Product included everything I needed. Have an older 1920's Home & these worked great in the window. Installed in less than 30min!

This is a second time I bought this unit since I purchased one 4 years ago and have been pleased with it.

We were in a pinch due to our a/c going and we needed something to try and cool our living room. This did the job perfectly. We are slightly under the square footage and it kept the room consistently cool.

This unit produces little to no water. Great for apartments. Air is directed upwards towards the ceiling. Has an energy saving mode and quite mode as well. Comes with remote. Refer to guidelines when choosing the right amount of BTU for the area. This was installed in a 1242 cubic ft room, cooled the area quickly.

The ultra quiet is great. However, it breaks down within a few years of limited use. I purchased 3 of these. 1 failed about 2 yrs, another about 3 yrs. Both failed the same. The unit blows cool but not cold air. The inside heat exchange builds up ice. Seems to be an electronics issue. When put in dehumidify mode, the broken unit fan speed can be changed. On my working unit the fan speed is fixed to quiet speed.

Quiet by design but not the fan only puts out cfm of a modern 5000 btu on quiet mode the evaporator freezes up then the thawed water in the base floods the fan outside going to try to exchange or refund my money back the air conditioner shouldn't freeze when nothing is obstructing airflow

We love the AC but we got an open box and half put together unit. In stead of replacing it they opened an other box and gave me the missing and broken parts. I feel they should of just swapped it out or gave me at least an open box discount. I stead of putting it back on shelf for full price.
