It works like a charm! You can hook up a garden hose for drainage, the machine shuts down and alert you when the tank is full unfortunately I cannot run a garden hose. And the smart drive feature really cuts down on the energy cost I highly recommend this product! It takes about six hours for the tank to fill up but I have the smallest unit.
I live in NJ where its humid in summer. Tank fills up with water in one day. It's perfect if you can empty daily. Although there are other options like a plug in for a hose. I like that it has humidity indicator. I have used it where it starts at 60 and goes down to 45. I am purchasing a second one for upstairs.
Just a good GE appliance. Reliable, not to loud, two drainage options both work well. For smaller spaces but works well in a 750 sq foot basement. Capacity is fine for the space.
Works great! Runs fairly quiet for the most part and does a great job lowering the humidity in our downstairs room. Our monitor was reading around 65-70% this summer when we bought this unit and now it maintains our downstairs gameroom at right around 35-40% year round. We had to empty it once a day for most part in the summer because of the size of the catch bucket but if it was larger it would be much harder to handle when it's time to empty so we are more than happy to empty it daily in warmer months. In the winter we empty it maybe once a week or less. Couldn't be happier with our purchase and would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a good reasonably priced dehumidifier.
Works great does its job and the price was good as well. All around a good purchase.
Performs very well I like how the noise is silent. It covers my whole house and it's easy to clean. I like how it's easy to drain and the coverage and the catasticity
This model pulls a ton of moisture out of our air almost all year round. We have two in our home- one on main level & one in basement- both tanks fill up to the brim during spring/summer & I usually have to empty them daily! We are always shocked at how much water it pulls from our air! The machine stops when it's full though- no issues with overflowing. Negatives: 1) Machine stops running when the water level gets VERY high so I have to be careful removing the tank or the water will splash out & spill! 2) VERY noisy when running! 3) The tank has tons of tiny spaces that are impossible to clean bc you can't fit your hand inside or remove the top piece, so i'm not able to scrub it clean. I'm only able to dump the water tank & replace. 4) **MOLD grew inside BOTH tanks** (because it's impossible to clean!) 5) Somehow MOLD also grew on the *outside* top holes of one of the tanks!
Only had for three years and quit working correctly after one year. Have it set on continuous but it shuts off and won't go below 55% humidity level. Very dissatisfied. Expected better out of GE. I have followed all instructions and use drain hose, clean filter, away from other items.
I bought the unit for my parents in late summer. We installed the unit and it worked for about a week and then stopped. I can turn the unit on and set the desired humidity setting. But the unit will shut off in just a matter of minutes no matter where I set the humidity level. I would have submitted a warranty claim but we had a series of health issues with my parents that delayed my registering of the product but it is registered and I need to file the claim.
Noisy. Plastic vibrates so loud we have to turn it off at night and it's located in bsmt. Works OK but awfully noisy. Poor construction
