Saving money.
I bought this Roku to install on a TV set that was connected to Dish. The cost was too much for the equipment rental each month so the cost of one Roku is a great value. The Roku gets all kinds of streaming services at little to no cost. This Roku I didn't realize when I purchased it does not control the on/off or the volume of the TV set, but since I had a universal remote I could program it to control the Roku. The Amazon Firestick does not work with a universal remote.

Good Job
Roku is a good substitute for cable TV where there is no other way to get a signal

Remote did not work
This was a refurbished Roku and the remote does not work. After going through the efforts of installing it, to find the remote doesnt work is a major bummer. Unhooking it all, returning it, and waiting for another one to ship is not what I want to deal with. Ugh!

Roku did not work.
Unit was dead on arrival. Tried the remote on a different Roku to make sure that it was the unit. Returned it.
