This brace is good for minor sprains or twists or support. It felt good when I first put it on, but, despite the two plastic supports that are supposed to hold my thumb in place and keep it from being bent backward (which is how it got sprained), it allows too much freedom, too much range-of-motion. It needs to be stronger. The thin strap that wraps over the thumb is too narrow and two feeble to lock my thumb in a semi-immovable position. Also, there is a small patch of Velcro at the very start of the band that wraps around the wrist. If you don't get that onto the rest of the wrist strap, it digs into your skin and is uncomfortable. I could yank hard and tighten it until that Velcro pad reached the band and didn't touch bare skin. A bigger wrist would never be able to do that. Maybe the pad could be covered with sticky tape or gauze or something. It's comfortable, easily adjustable, and holds my thumb stable when I'm not doing anything strenuous, but it (apparently) isn't meant to allow you to work, since the protection breaks down at a level of low exercise / work / activity / quick movement.
