Made my hair lovely

Anonymous September 8, 2020

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I don't usually use box dyes but I wanted to try one out and I purchased this one which was recommended to me by my friend. It came with easy instructions and everything to need to complete the process, including an after colouring conditioner. I was surprised at how natural the shade was, some black dyes look really unnatural, this one looked nice and multi tonal, it also had a nice fruity scent which I loved. After the colouring process was complete I rinsed and used the conditioner, my hair felt silky, and it looked and felt incredible.

ColorSilk beautiful color

Maria422 December 14, 2020

I usually go to a salon to get my hair coloured but due to Covid-19 shut downs, this was not possible. So I purchased Revlon ColorSilk Brown Black to do myself at home. It was so easy to apply and the results were fantastic! My hair looks gorgeous, I am now a DIY hair colourist convert, Thanks Revlon.

Too Easy

Grasshopper March 19, 2022

I'm sick of my Grey coming through so quickly. A quick and easy application to follow. Does what it says and really covers that Grey. With having short hair I find 1 Box does me two Applications. I'm loving it. No excuses putting off dying my hair due to time restraints

Smooth as Silk

Ingrid910 August 4, 2015

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Another successful session of hair dyeing. Why pay large amounts when you can achieve the same results at home with the Coloursilk beautiful colour. I used dark blonde which is the right shade for me as my hair is getting greyer. All the grey seems to be covered well and I am looking forward to the colour staying rich and not fading due to the UV defence. It was great to be using a ammonia free product. On application the product had a pleasant smell and was easy to apply. My hair feels and looks silky and heathy The instructions are easy to follow, I liked the fact that the dye did not run down it seemed to be a non drip product that stuck to your hair. Nothing worse than a runny dye. It is reasonable priced probably one of the more cheaper dyes on the market, well done. Over all an excellent product that I feel has made my hair feel shiny, healthy, controls those greys and makes my hair silky in the process. Wonderful,I would recommend Coloursilk to others, well done Revlon

Deep-conditioning colour

Miss Danger August 2, 2015

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used the same brand of home hair colourant for several years now and was pleasantly surprised just how well the Revlon Coloursilk worked on my hair. I generally end up with at least a little brittleness or dryness after colouring but this wasn't the case with Coloursilk, my hair actually felt in better condition after colouring. I selected the shade Burgundy as it was the closest available to my current hair colour, I found that there were only two shades in the range suited to me so I feel a wider variety of shades would be good in the future. Before colouring my hair I the performed a patch test as normal on the nape of my neck, 24 hours prior to colouring and I didn't experience any reaction so felt confident to use the colour on my scalp. The colourant came in a tube of cream and a bottle of lotion, you add the cream to the lotion and shake to mix the two products together. I then put the gloves on that were provided in the box and applied the colour to the entirety of my hair (roots to tips). I left the colour on for the recommended time as indicated in the enclosed instructions, I then rinsed, shampooed once and applied the conditioner that came with the colourant. The colourant itself was less chemically fragranced than my regular colour which was nice, it had a light floral fragrance with only a hint of chemical scent. I think the ammonia-free formulation made the colourant smell far less potent than others I have used in the past. I didn't, however, like the fragrance of the conditioner provided, it smelt like horrible old toilet air freshener and I actually found it quite unpleasant to use. After rinsing the colourfrom my hair and applying the conditioner I found that my hair felt far better than when I normally colour it, it felt more conditioned and far less dry and brittle and I actually feel that it was even in better condition than before using the Coloursilk product. My hair was left evenly-coloured, shiny, and felt soft and well-conditioned. I have washed my hair three times since colouring and the resulting colour is still vibrant and fresh-looking. I would definitely use this colour again in the future as well as recommend it to my friends. A wider variety of shades would be a plus as well as a more pleasant conditioning agent for after-colouring but all in all it is a great, value for money, home hair colourant.

A solid hair Colour product

sumsta July 26, 2015

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Overall I thought this product did a good job at covering my grey hairs and provide even Colour all over. It didn't dry out my hair but at the same time it didn't enhance my hair texture or luster. Packaging: Pretty stock standard packaging for hair Colour. Nothing extra agent. Instructions/Ease of Use: The instructions were quite simple to follow and I found it straight forward. There are only two products like most hair dyes you use and mix which was great. The aftercare conditioner had a pleasant scent without being overbearing. Scent: No Ammonia was great and it certainly didn't have any overbearing smells. Colour: I the black as my hair is naturally almost black/slight brown tinge and I like the jet black look. The Colour applied evenly and gave a string payoff. It covered all my grey hairs which was great.

Greys Peeked Through a Fortnight After Colouring

misfortune8 February 14, 2018

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used #48 Burgundy on my naturally brown, greying hair. I don't use colour protecting shampoo or conditioner because they need to be used daily on my oily hair. I use deep cleansing shampoo 2-3 times weekly to keep the oiliness at bay, but it washed away the colour. I had greys peeking through after two weeks. If you're accustomed to colouring your hair at home, you'll find this kit is similar to most brands. All you need is in the box & the multi-language instructions are easy to follow. The colour crème is runnier than most other brands: it's like a dark amber liquid. When added to the developer, the mixture was runnier than most other brands too, so be careful of drips when applying. I popped a shower cap on while the colour developed. The recommended development time is 25 minutes or 30 minutes for resistant greys. For root-only applications, leave to develop for 20 minutes or 25 minutes for resistant greys. I used the maximum development time. The conditioner sachet wouldn't tear open. It needed to be snipped, so I advise you to do this before getting in the shower. The conditioner smelt divine, but there wasn't quite enough for a single use. My hair felt awful after colouring, but by the second shampoo using my regular conditioner, it felt fine. REPURCHASE? No. RECOMMEND? No - unless you just want to try something cheaply & don't have greys to cover. Made in USA. NEVER USE THIS PRODUCT!

Ssingh January 15, 2018

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very bad product, hair becomes dry and there is lot of itching in the head and hair also looks dull. Awful product. Very bad smell for a No Ammonia product. Will never use it again. Sincerely, do not try this product ever. Use any other substitute other than this. I have used other hair colors but this was the worst. Really de-nourishes the hair. Really bad product. Not worth the money.

Very disappointed

Abby101 May 18, 2017

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have always dyed my hair at home and I sometimes like to try different brands. When I came across this Revlon coloursilk hair dye for so cheap I thought what a bargain!! But unfortunately it was awful. It came with all the tools you need to dye hair but the pigment of the dye was just not strong enough. It left my hair feeling disgusting and I immediately had to go buy another dye I was not too impressed with this product and I will not be recommending it to my friends and family.
