This surface thermometer is perfect for the grill. The most accurate I've found and I've tried a bunch.

Palette thermometer
I find this a Must when working with a hot surface even with a thermostat as that may not actually represent the actual surface temperature which can be affected by many things like air flow. Handy sides allow you to pick up without glove protection.

Encaustic - Palette Cup, pack of 3
these are for my encaustic waxes and sit on my "heated palette". Although pricey, they are are very durable, and worth the investment. They are much thicker than small cooking tins I was using before. These are great and just the right size for my small works.

R&F heated palette
This R&F heated palette works beautifully with even heat across the surface. Takes the place of my old crockpot and frypan which probably used more energy to heat. Also good for paper encaustic and collage.

Great Purchase
These easy to use and clean palette cups are the best. They save a ton of encaustic wax paint, if you are using large amounts and don't want to throw away whats on your hot palette. You just scrape it into the palette cup for re-use later.

A big move up
The surface is beauful to work on, platform is expertly machined, heat source warms wax quickly and maintains consistant temp and the brush holder is very convenient.

These pans are a great size for melting my encaustics and medium. Can fit several on my hot plate. Will be buying more.
