powerful for its size
I installed this unit in my 2/1 1960's condo replacing a 30gal water heater. What a great product! The install was easy i had to upgrade my breaker to a 60 from a 30 which meant upgrading the wiring gauge, which wasn't hard at all. I have hot water on demand now that never runs out! my 30 gal tank would only provide about a 5 min shower now its as long as i want. I have to fill my tub with free flow hot water at only half flow but to keep hot water but i figured as much from such a small unit. overall it was very much worth it to ditch the hot water storage tank and have hot water on demand for as along as in need it. If i were to try to heat a larger house with 2 or 3 baths I would suggest a larger unit but the product is GREAT!!

Great While It Lasts
Great heater but relatively short life: I've had to replace this unit twice now in the kitchen in the last four years due to the heating element failing. Moving to Rinnai.

failed after 1 year of use!
i had it professionally installed and its keeps popping a fuse and stops working all the time . i think it finally completely failed after 1 years of use only and 900 later. i home RHEEM will send me replacement as its under warranty. but seems liek its one of the worse ones to have. all bad ratings. i would like to upgrade to a better one.

No HOT Water!!
I bought the RTex -13 unit 2 weeks ago to replace my 30 gal older water heater because I wanted to take showers without running out of hot water - now I have no hot water! With the RHeem set at 140 degrees I cannot get water hotter than 86 degrees in my shower! I have a condo so my installer told me that this unit would be big enough for my square footage. I have had to go to my gym to get a hot shower even with the Covid issues going on. What a costly disapppointment!
