Rheem MR40245 40 gal 4500 watts Marathon Tall Elements Non Metallic Lifetime Electric Tank Water Heater

Our plumber recommended this water tank to us and we are glad that we listened. We had an old tank break on us years ago and the one that was installed after that was already starting to show wear and tear as it was over 10 years old. Our plumber has never known a Marathon tank to fail and said that it will give us peace of mind. We have faith in our plumber, and now we have faith in our water tank!

Easy to install; have to take covers off to adjust temps; wish the drain valve was easier to access. Had one before but the inlet began to leak between inlet pipe and tank (a little separation occurred). Tank was fully warranted and was replaced at no cost. Tank was about 8 years old

3 year old hot water heater, lower element burned out on Thanksgiving with a house full of guests. Not much fun with luke warm water and no one to get parts from on a holiday weekend.

When these first came out I installed several of them, in my house, an apartment, and at least two customer's homes. I have lost track of one of the customers, but the other three have gone bad. The company gets a good rating, as all have been replaced by them, except for the one in the apartment.

The first heater had to be replaced within a few days of installation as it had a leakage, The new one is installed 2 weeks ago, so will not be able to provide a positive review right now. I will recommend this product if it satisfies my requirement after a few months time

Bought the tank in November of 2015 for a new home. We moved into the house in May 2016. It was fine for about one week, then the elements broke! Called Rheem and they sent us new elements (standard elements do not fit), but only after the plumber called, too. Took cold showers until the parts came 4 days later. Less than a week later the thermostat broke. Cold showers again!! Didn't bother calling. We were frustrated and sick of taking cold showers so we just had our plumber install a standard hot water tank. Very disappointed especially considering how EXPENSIVE it was to buy.

I had this installed in my new house and after 4 years it is DEAD. The Warranty Page won't actually show you the warranty, and the warranty verification tool says it can't find the status of my hot water heater, even though the marketing department seems to be able to find its model from my serial number and send me marketing emails JUST FINE.

Within 1 year it began to weep near supply connections. Before the 2nd anniversary I had to replace. Lifetime warranty is still prorated. Only received 62% refund after 23 months. Waste of time and money. I bought to avoid corrosion and it cost me dearly. From now on I am sticking to cheap and easy.

I have had my hot water heater for 2yrs and the heating element with out. It was difficult to find a contracted dealer who will work on it then you have to wait on Rheem to ship the part. The part is covered but not the labor so reality is you do not have a full warranty. Would not recommend Rheem

This was installed in our house after we had it rebuilt due to a fire. The tank was installed in spring 2015 and was found to be leaking from the tank in 10/2016 and was replaced under warranty. We still had to pay for a the plumber to remove the old one and install the new one.
