was very happy to find these I couldn't find them anymore anywhere else so I was very happy because you can just take one out put it in a pan let it rise and bake it thank you so much
I would absolutely recommend this product as I have many times already. I come to understand that the 4-7 hours can very each time. The warmer the room it sits in up till baking make the difference for how long it needs to sit. Personal preference in denseness of the bread after baking plays the biggest factor. I prefer to let it sit in a relatively comfortable room temperature 72°-75°. let it sit for 6 hours or until the dough swells to no more then 2" above the pan rim. Prepare the oven to proper temperature (350°). I let the dough bake for 20 minutes then check to see how done the top is, if needed I will let it go the full 25 minutes (time on the package). If I use parchment paper in the pan to help remove it from the pan after baking, I'll let it set in the pan for a few minutes before removing to help done and up the dough below the pan rim. or I'll use strips of parchment to help remove it but will allow the dough to bake better, more done. I like a thick dense bread when slicing. if you allow this bread to sit out in the air to cool for a couple of hours, it will help densen up the bread itself. I highly recommend this bread to most of my friends.
I started buying this bread because I didn't like that the store bread was able to be in my cupboard for up to four weeks and not have any mold. I also love the idea of "making my own bread". The instructions are so easy and just take a little planning for thawing the dough. It smells so good when I make it too. I also learned to wait overnight to cut the bread so that the loaf doesn't get crushed.
I keep a bag in my freezer for emergencies: I use the dough as bread; defrosted and cut into slices and cut into threes to place in muffin tins for refrigerator rolls; add streusel( brown sugar, cinnamon, raisins/diced apples, and butter spread over defrosted dough that i have rolled about 1/2" thick, rolled and sliced into cinnamon rolls that I place in a 9" × 13" oven glass baking dish, and bake; I roll out on a cookie sheet with edge sides for pizza crust; and also slice defrosted roll into slices, and roll into crescent rolls. Crescent, refridgerator rolls, and bread may have add-ins like poppy seeds, sesame seeds, coarse salt, etc. Excellent flavor, fluffy, crisps up crust for pizza,
bread is soft and I am so happy that they still remain at a low cost but great quality I use it to bake bagels ,dinner rolls , donuts and loaf , it always bake really nicely and my neighbors love it when I bake bread and give them some, my family loves it hot with butter and variety of toppings
I've bought, baked, and eaten Rhodes Bake-N-Serv, bread products for years; so many in fact that I can't envision eating any other bread. I enjoy the White Bread Dough more than the Wheat dough, but that's just me. Both doughs are tasty, easy to raise and bake. Always lite and fluffy. I very seldom have an air pocket in the loaf. I really don't care for wheat breads as a normal rule, not that I dislike the home baked wheat bread, I just don't care for wheat bread in general. Lately, I've been making Hamburger style Buns using the 16 oz. loaf of dough shaped into four equal flattened rounds. It takes almost the same amount of time to proof the rounds as it would a regular loaf (16 oz. is the size of a frozen loaf of dough). I tried the frozen dinner rolls, using two frozen rolls for one bun, but the taste is different: right size, wrong flavor. But it does work. 72 grams instead of 113 grams. Proofing is easy, I use a Lapert Bread Proofing Box, and it only takes about 90 minutes. Baking a loaf of bread only takes about 30 minutes after proofing. They have a good flavor when cold, but an exceptional flavor when still warm fresh from the oven! I've purchased both the 3-loaf bag, and the 5-loaf bag. And if I remember correctly, the Rhodes Dinner Rolls I bought are in a 32 or 36 roll bag. All of Rhodes' products are found in the frozen breads section of the store. Kept it frozen until you are ready to put it in a warmer environment for thawing. I thaw mine overnight in the refrigerator. Then put it in the loaf pan for proofing. A neat trick for smaller kitchens, probably not found in a cookbook: after thawing and before proofing, cut the loaf in two equal 8 oz loaves, put them in two standard mini loaf pans and use the Air fryer to bake. I set my Instant-Pot air-fryer lid on bake at 320 degrees, using a trivet to allow air circulation. Experiment with the temperature and time and then enjoy! I think if you want the fresh-baked bread smell, taste and texture at home, Rhodes Bake-N-Serv, White Bread Dough, 5 CT is a good starting place! The pricing is good also!
I use this to make peperino bread. I defrost a loaf or two. roll it out. put whatever combination of meat and cheese. roll it up. cut some vent hole, brush with garlic butter and herbs. and bake. great for party and leftovers for quick lunches. I've used peperino and cooked sausage, with mozzarella, beside just peperino. ham and Swiss cheese. you can even do a sweet roll cinnamon sugar, jelly or jam.
I can't say enough about this bread. It's just over $1 a loaf. They are easy to sit out and let rise and have a taste amazing. Great with dinner or with a little butter and honey as a treat! Picture is before baking. Does a little better if you don't let rise this much before baking as it continues to rise while cooking
These bread dough loaves make the best bread with little preparation and effort. The taste is wonderful and adds alot to my homemade baking food choices. I love a sandwich made with Ham and a little Honey on this baked bread. Nutella spread on a slice of this Rhodes dough bread is great as a quick snack.
I fix this bread loaf for me here at home. For sandwiches, toast for my chicken spaghetti or my beef spaghetti. I just like it. It lasts a lot longer than store-bought bread and I can bake it. Let it cool. Slice it up put it baggies put it nice box and pull it out when I need it in last week 3 to 4 weeks so yeah I think this is a good deal but follow the package, but if you wanna cook it for a meal at night? Be sure you put your bread in them loaf pan in the morning and then put it in the oven so nothing can get to it and let it rise and then when you get home put some egg wash across the top, then bake it as it states on the bag and you'll have some hot warm bread for dinner. You can even make Rose for Thanksgiving Christmas Easter, whatever holiday it is they're great. Just cut them like a oh 3/4 of an inch maybe a little less put them in a cupcake pan spread them real good with some olive oil. Put them in there. Let them rise overnight. Put egg wash on them. Put them in the oven. bake them the next morning and you got good fat Rose for the holidays.
