I was extremely shocked by the quality of these steaks. My husband really wanted a steak, and since I had a grocery order already set up for the day, I opted to give them a shot because I didn't have time to run by the higher priced local grocery store. Again, neither of us could believe the steaks came from Walmart, I'd like to think some of it was my cooking ability, but I know the larger part was the quality of the meat itself.

High priced steak

Ginger February 10, 2026

The only issue I had was that the item was supposed to be a $21 pack of steak and was substituted for a $43 pack of steaks instead without consulting me about it and if I had enough funds to cover that big of a price difference otherwise they were great steaks!

Fresh, But More Choice Than Prime

Victor June 29, 2026

I've ordered these Prime Angus ribeyes several times now. The steaks have always arrived fresh, the cuts are consistent, and the medium thickness is exactly what I expected. They cook up well, and the overall meat quality is decent. My disappointment is with the marbling. For steaks labeled "Prime," I expected much richer intramuscular fat and a noticeably better eating experience. Across multiple orders, they've looked and tasted much closer to a good Choice steak than a true Prime ribeye. The flavor is good, and they're not especially tough. With a good marinade or seasoning, they still make an enjoyable meal. But if you're buying these specifically to experience that buttery, heavily marbled Prime quality, you may come away underwhelmed. Overall, I'd give them 3 out of 5 stars: fresh, well-trimmed, and enjoyable, but not what I expect when paying for Prime-grade ribeyes. On the other hand, they are fairly economical for what you get, so I could still recommend them for budget-conscious buyers or anyone planning to use marinades or robust seasonings.

Ribeye steak prime beef 2 pack

anonymous September 28, 2025

This was substituted for the 30 dollar pack even though I chose the 20 dollar pack to sub for the 30 dollar one. This is what they brought, 40 bucks down the drain, it was nothing but fat, both steaks, outside and inside just fat and gristle. I won't be buying steaks from Walmart again.

Absolutely Disgusting!

Stacey July 26, 2025

Tastes like LIVER! I don't know what my local Walmart did to this but it is absolutely disgusting! $55 for 2 prime ribeyes and tastes like crap! Looking at these my conclusion is the prime rib was going to expire and so they tried cutting off the visibly spoiled portion and repackaged these as prime steaks. Don't buy them, stick with choice or go to a real meat market. Stuck with another package that I won't even give to the dog.

Perfectly

Dianne February 7, 2026

Everything is expensive these days, but especially steak. I was very, very shocked that when I cooked this steak to a medium rare it was the toughest tasteless steak I've ever eaten. I will never buy a ribeye from Walmart again. This is the second time I've tried to get against state from there or at least gave them the benefit of the doubt but I'm not gonna do that again. That meat was cooked to perfection and was so tough and tasteless that I had to just chip it up and give it to my dog.

I have ordered these in the past and they were very good. I always slow-cook on a pellet grill until 118 degrees F. and reverse sear any steak until they are 145. These particular 2 so-called prime ribeye steaks were very tough after topping them with butter and resting them for 8 or 10 minutes. They were extremely tough, even though they were a perfect medium. I find this ridiculous for being prime beef. The consistency and toughness reminded me of an old cow ribeye. Walmart needs to get there selected meats graded correctly.

Not Prime beef Ribeyes at all, more like Select.

Bruce September 1, 2025

There is absolutely NO way these were “Prime” beef Ribeyes, they were in EVERY way more like SELECT, not even Choice. They had very little marbling, the fat content was almost nill, I cooked them to medium rare and they turned out tough and tasteless. Horrible!! I've trained as a chef and know the various meat qualities and these I will NEVER buy again, ever.

Buy in person, do not order online for delivery

Lara May 29, 2026

Whoever selected this steak chose the least marbled, most expensive of the bunch. All the fat is along the outside and not throughout the steak as you typically see in store with their prime cuts. Save your money and select the steaks for yourself, do not order these via delivery .

I would have loved to had them. I paid for them. but I did not get them in my Walmart order when my order arrived. the shopper even exchange them because the ones I had wasn't in stock so she got many more expensive ones. instead of the 36 dollar fact she got me the $46. I was looking forward to having a mother day dinner but unfortunately I did not receive them but how could I write something I didn't get.
