Excellent source of protein. Texture was cooked medium rare. Sufficient marbling (meat versus fat). Boneless. Very tender. Grilled to perfection! The traditional annual "rite of steak" every year in December. Cost-wise, is worth the money well spent. You get more meat / steak than you would from a Restaurant for the price. Went well with baked potato, with sour cream, chives and buttered mushrooms. It's a treat!
I was extremely shocked by the quality of these steaks. My husband really wanted a steak, and since I had a grocery order already set up for the day, I opted to give them a shot because I didn't have time to run by the higher priced local grocery store. Again, neither of us could believe the steaks came from Walmart, I'd like to think some of it was my cooking ability, but I know the larger part was the quality of the meat itself.
We can only buy steaks once every other month or so due to their high prices, but during Christmas week, we splurged and bought two (one for each of us). They have great marbling, which gives them great flavor. They were indescribably delicious! Awwww, so delicious! Walmart sells the best rib-eye steaks around.
These are not that much more expensive than the choice ribeyes, which are also good. But these are nicely marbled, and so flavorful. I only got these because they were out of the choice steaks. I'm so glad I did because now I know that they're worth the extra cost.
The only issue I had was that the item was supposed to be a $21 pack of steak and was substituted for a $43 pack of steaks instead without consulting me about it and if I had enough funds to cover that big of a price difference otherwise they were great steaks!
This was substituted for the 30 dollar pack even though I chose the 20 dollar pack to sub for the 30 dollar one. This is what they brought, 40 bucks down the drain, it was nothing but fat, both steaks, outside and inside just fat and gristle. I won't be buying steaks from Walmart again.
Some of the worst steaks we've ever had and we usually have great luck with Walmart meat. These were supposed to be prime, but I believe they were grossly mislabeled. They were very tough and sinewy, even though they were perfectly cooked (as medium rare people - obviously that's subjective). Literally, there was a tendon running crossways through the steak. How??
Everything is expensive these days, but especially steak. I was very, very shocked that when I cooked this steak to a medium rare it was the toughest tasteless steak I've ever eaten. I will never buy a ribeye from Walmart again. This is the second time I've tried to get against state from there or at least gave them the benefit of the doubt but I'm not gonna do that again. That meat was cooked to perfection and was so tough and tasteless that I had to just chip it up and give it to my dog.
Tastes like LIVER! I don't know what my local Walmart did to this but it is absolutely disgusting! $55 for 2 prime ribeyes and tastes like crap! Looking at these my conclusion is the prime rib was going to expire and so they tried cutting off the visibly spoiled portion and repackaged these as prime steaks. Don't buy them, stick with choice or go to a real meat market. Stuck with another package that I won't even give to the dog.
It is imperative that you update your app immediately. For the past couple of years, every time I attempt to check out, the app crashes, forcing me to completely reschedule my delivery. This is unacceptable. Moreover, I've observed that you intentionally prevent customers from communicating with shoppers in real-time, which is also unacceptable. When I receive notifications about issues with specific items, I respond promptly. Yet, it's frustrating to see that items have already been checked out without proper communication. This practice is not only inconvenient but also quite frankly, dishonest. It has been ongoing for far too long and requires your immediate attention.
