Easiest thing I ever did. I thought the deadman's switch would be hard to operate since I was using my knee and not a foot, but it turns out, piece of cake. I thought it was going to be hard to know when I broke through the clog but that was easy also. Clean up was okay, way better than on the old manual I have. If I was going to criticize anything, it would be the window to see how much cable I have left. I ran it through 3 times and by the third time, I couldn't see anything. They should have a little beep or a change in the color of the cable when you are getting close to the end, but that's a nit. Certainly wasn't a deal breaker.
The washing machine drain was clogged and I couldn't locate my hand auger, so I purchased the K-40.. It worked great and was easy to clean. 2 days later 3 of my mothers drains clogged. Boy was I glad I bought this.
I really like the fact I do not have to hold the machine with one hand while guiding the cable in to the drain. This machine has plenty of power to clear tubs, sinks, and even urinal drains.
Glad I purchased this machine. Works well. Easy on the hands. Would recommend for sink & tub clogs.
This machine does everything right. Starting with it's very compact size, this machine is great to use in tight spaces. You can use it in a vertical or horizontal position with no problems. It's pneumatic foot switch frees up your hands and it's power cord is generously long. Although this machine is lightweight, it has a heft and weight that gives testimony to it's high quality construction. The K-40 sets up fast, quickly clears the blockage and its frame allows for cord and tubing storage.
My Grandfather sold wholesale plumbing supplies since the 50's, and he highly recommended his RIGID products. Recently, I had to snake a secondary sink located in a laundry room. Any plumber knows these types of cement sinks can have all kinds of problems. I pulled out his old K-40 and thought I would have a job ahead of me, but it came through without a hitch! If and when the RIGID tools he swore by ever give out, I'll gladly be back to buy from the newest generation of the same line that has served this plumber's family so well for so long! I'd buy any RIGID product with 'my eyes closed' ... that's the kind of confidence I have in their products!
Bought this machine to use under cabinets. Use it all the time. It's light in weight and makes it easy to keep customers house clean. Would recommend for every plumber. It's a must have.
This is a great little machine. My only pet peeve is sometimes the cable gets a bit stuck and you have to pull on it to get it out of the machine but this has happened many times with my old super v .I have also had to remove the front cover and take the cable out and then put the cable back into the machine.Still much lighter and easier to use than the Super V.I had one of those for years and let me tell you this machine is much easier on the hands.Overall it has a strong motor and is perfect for 1 1/2" drains
This drain snake is pretty light for the size and the features it has. The power is incredible for the size. The auto feed feature works great which results in a clean hands and work area less cleaning up after the job been completed. I also like the fact that the cord it comes with is pretty long no need for a extention cord must of the time. Another cool thing is for most drains you dont need to take the ptrap off you could snake a lavortory right threw the drain without removing the trap.
Already broke after four uses. A cheap part broke and tore up the belt. Easy repair that I have to send the unit in. This will be my last Rigid tool. Just send me the stupid part. Big corporations have lost touch with reality….
