I purchased one in 2015 for my last truck that has never been parked in the garage and the vinyl was still in good shape and the retract/slide mechanism had never failed. When I purchased a new truck this year I did not consider anything else based on the old one's performance. My only negative comment would be the length of time to ship.
I had some issues getting the topper shipped out. Real Truck did respond and take care of me for the delay. I appreciate how they handled the situation. The cover was much easier to install than I thought it would be. I purchased my first Roll and Lock in 2003 when they had to be professionally installed. I like the look of this new one with the vinyl top. I hope it holds up in S Florida sun. We have a 5th wheel and I think this style top will work better than the flip ones.
Had some trouble with missing parts but realTruck provided parts promptly. Shipping dented rails, but was able to correct on my own.
Pretty easy to install. Take your time and install only took about 2 hours. Looks and works amazing.
Looks great. Easy install, even for a beginner. I had the previous cover for 8 yrs on my previous truck with no issues.
Having a little trouble keeping it to stay closed it wants to pop open on bumpy roads working to solve the problem
Once installed, this Roll N Lock cover performs as advertised. The composition of your installation instructions is T-E-R-R-I-B-L-E. The illustrations are great, however you have wrongly mixed instructions for different configurations in the same . pdf document. Much of my time was wasted (and your bottom line impacted) as you kept sending me the same parts. It was then I had to view your instructions differently. Eventually I used a highlighter to mark which illustrations that applied to my 2006 Tacoma and ignored the rest. It was straight forward after that. I'm in training with a large scale manufacturer, so writing and teaching assembly of complex products is bread and butter for me. What should have happened is: 1. separate . pdf's for each configuration 2. as you do not even ship paper instructions with the product, that 2nd . pdf would be almost zero cost (a few billion electrons maybe). Customers should not have to untangle your instructions. I like the product, fix the instructions.
I am happy with the cover . I was looking for a cover that would cover a partial while being able to be open . Unfortunately I wanted one to stop in various portions of the bed . Like up to the fifth wheel hitch so the front was covered . This doesn't seem to do that
I like the cover, Looks good, easy to open and close. the problem is that it is not water tight. I've washed the truck a couple of times since I put the cover on and with just spraying the hose on the bed of the truck around the cover I get water inside the bed. We had rain and I also had water in the bed after that.
The product is nice, but it will not stay latched in all of the time. You get off the road and the passenger side will not be in the latch hole. Have had also just completely come unlatch and roll up while driving.
