Road Top Wireless Carplay Android Auto In-Dash Unit for Mercedes Benz NTG45/47, 2012-2015

The install is not hard if you take your time to read all the instructions first. The biggest part for me was running the AMI cable to the center console. Once it was all wired up and some settings adjusted it works flawlessly. Highly recommend this Road Top decoder. It connects to the phone on startup every time.

This unit came fairly quickly and with the help of my husband and nephew it was installed at home with no problems. They did look at YouTube videos of how to install similar after market units like this one (so not the exact one) but it all goes in pretty much the same way. This one comes with a QR code for instructions but it wasn't as helpful as other YouTube videos. I have had no problems with this and it works great in my car.

The seller provided upgraded firmware which allows you to set the unit to force calls to go through the phone bluetooth. In my testing, this removes the echo and allows wireless function with the reliability of the wired connection. The seller is also replacing the usb audio piece under warranty. If the replacement works as expected this will be a five star item. It does provide Carplay which I have come to rely upon.

Let me start off by saying I'm not handy but I push through things until things work. This is not rocket science so there's a solution for it. Find couple of YouTube videos on how to take out dashboard. Our Mercedes' didn't come with CarPlay from factory so we had to install this for it to work.

The install took about an hour and was worth every minute. The price was very fair and less expensive than other options. I was able to put it to the full test this weekend after a 12 hour road trip and it made the entire experience not only more enjoyable but safer as well. I didn't use the wireless CarPlay so I can't comment on that but the wired CarPlay worked flawlessly. 2018 GLC300 with Burmeister. Simple plug and play install. Only challenge was the optical cable as I didn't understand it at first. To setup bluetooth was a bit cumbersome but eventually it worked. Only thing is thay the call accept and decline buttons on the steering wheel are not to be used. The voice control works. Can recommend.

Found the RoadTop CarPlay kit on the MB forums. After install, the kit works flawlessly, auto reconnects to iphone every time. Integrates perfectly into the MB Command Knob and OEM microphone. The installation took about 4 hours and is moderate in difficultly. Watch the install videos before starting. I mounted the CarPlay decoder in the glove box on the top shelf. RoadTop technical support was awesome, they replied over night. Additional instructions were required to disable the OEM voice command SDS so that only Siri was activated via steering wheel ICON. Otherwise both Command and Siri responded simultaneously; fix was very simple. I have used the kit for about a week and I am completely satisfied.

Although one must have some type of skills in disassembly of the dash components of a Mercedes. I'm sure if I had to do into again it'd be quite simple. Straight forward instructions. Ground your ground wires so you don't have to take apart the dash twice. Great update for my 2013 CLS550. Fast shipping and they communicate well if you have any questions or concerns.

Everything is working great now a few bugs with getting audio. They where a big help.easy fix

It's working nicely most of the time, but sometimes I have to reconnect my phone, I liked the fact that I have the option to connect the audio through bluetooth to the car in the settings and I don't have to use the AUX to USB audio connection. In general, Overall not bad product but still using the small with no touch screen is somehow not the best CarPlay experience and maybe I'll try in the future the larger android screen option.
