I bought this for my husbands birthday and he said he really like it and he feels like he's learning the guitar! Well worth it, I can tell a difference.
Decided to get this after reading a ton of reviews and because I really want to learn to play my guitar and I'm not much for boring lessons. First off Price... The guitar and bass version is expensive!!! But just the guitar version is good priced at 50.00 in store. And seeing as it comes with the cable that you have to pay 30.00 alone for if you want another one, pretty good deal.. Now for game play... Well it's a tad frustrating. lol.. And only because I don't know how to play guitar and I can't seem to get my little fingers in the right spots. (I did better with my daughter's electric guitar than I did with my electric/acoustic) But it slows down and removes the notes you seem to be having issues with, then gradually works them back in. My husband took over for me when I was ready to throw my guitar through the tv. And he did great. It was adding the notes that I was having problems with back in and then some to the point where he was being challenged. Overall a fun game and a great instructional game. Just give yourself a chance and try not to throw your guitar through the tv. One thing I love over the rockband and guitar hero games is that even when you're horrible YOU DON"T GET BOO'ED OFF!!!!
i love the fact it helps teach you to play better while using your own REAL guitar instead of a plastic one & helps you tune it correctly. song selection is great too, the kids will hardly put it down! anyone that plays or wants to learn will enjoy it.
I have played the electric guitar for years on my own and although I can do some things, I still could not excel like I wanted to without expensive lessons. Rocksmith got me over those humps and now I can play and understand real music and music concept, and get to learn some of my favorite songs.
Plug out the old electric that you never mastered and plug in. This is great. Meet and exceeded my expection. Comes with 50 song and had additional DLC. Only complant is DLC is a little high. DLC cover all over place.
Beats mind numbing practice from a book or DVD, and way cheaper than an instructor. Interactive and engaging. I'm learning quickly without getting frustrated or bored. It adjustes to your abilities immediately getting easier or harder while you play. Great song selection too! I'm very happy with it! Recommended it to my younger brother...
Im in my 30's and for someone that always wanted to learn to play a guitar, had one, but never really could get motivated and retain what I learned... this is perfect! Currently priced more than an average game, but includes the cable so it equals out. Definitely worth the money if the price drops. As for more experienced guitarists I couldnt comment on whether it would be fun or not.
My son thinks this is great and I think it's really neat to get help learning the guitar
Saved 20 bucks getting it online
Bought this for my boyfriend, who has some guitar knowledge, & myself, who has none. The game teaches basic notes, chords, etc...kind of goes with each player until they get it...doesn't advance till the player does, then if you get lost the game slows back down. We've had hours of fun just learning different phases on guitar. You plug the game into your own guitar & not a toy so you're actually learning something while having fun..there's even a "game' called ducks on it where you have to shoot ducks, but you're learning chords while you're shooting ducks....we have had so much fun with it...we would recommend it to any one wanting to learn to play.
