Rocksmith Guitar and Bass - PlayStation 3

I have been learning guitar for a little over a year, and then got this game - it's a great way to keep on top of practicing! Pushes you forward and gives you fun songs to play (plus you can get new songs as they are available - which I haven't done yet, but am looking forward to). Bought this copy as a gift for a friend, because I love it so much!

Seriously, a lot of fun! Only played Bass so far.... (I like it so much, I am even going to try guitar!) Pros: easy to play! Step by step instructions make it easy for brand new beginners. Great for intermediate players too! As you hit each note correctly- you level up in the middle of the song. If you start to miss- you level down. Keeps it fun and the song still sounds good when you miss. ( I hate in Rockband when you miss- you lose the rhythm of the song and don't have enough music to get back in the groove.) It is SO satisfying when you see new notes coming down and you figure out where they go! Cons: takes time to load between songs and whenever you change anything. Sloppy play is not penalized. So long as you hit the note... It counts! Don't treat this as an "end all" to learn to play guitar or bass. If you really want to learn- take a class or hire an instructor. But if you want have fun and play some music- you don't need lessons- just get this game! It is seriously, awesomely, satisfying!

The game is truly a great game to learn how to play a guitar or bass. I enjoy it very much and still on keep playing it.
