I chose this initially because of the name Roku and I'm glad I did. This little quadrilateral device is marvelous, it easy to set up and it takes little to no space. I placed this in my living room window facing the outside and it works perfectly. Just turn to day/night mode so that you do not get glare or back reflection. I have an IPhone again the set up was easy and the picture is clear day and at night. The last pic of person approaching my air conditioner is the reason I got this as my other cameras picked up his movement but not a clear visual of his face. I like the liked this quadrilateral device so much I purchased the the Indoor/outdoor one immediately after I completed my set up of this one. I will be looking into the door bell version. P.S. I will be sending a couple of these to my daughter.
Wow! Ok I e work with many security camera. Some with apps some with just a card for memory. Let me tell you this is an amazing camera. It is so loaded with setting options it’s insane I only paid $49 for 2 cameras. The best wide angle, the best picture quality, the best app, the best motion detection of any I’ve ever used. It’s a really good deal and I got done setting them up and I had to leave a review I was so impressed. Believe me I’ve got better things to do but thought others would want to know being they’re new on the market. I’m a real customer and affiliated with Walmart or Roku. Great Job Roku!
This surprised me so much because of the price. I assumed you couldn't view it from outside your wifi range, but you can! I'm really impressed. I've been using it to keep an eye on my cat especially when I spent a couple days away from home and when he had an injury and was sequestered in my bedroom. My nieces had some fun watching it once, too. I signed up for a smart home subscription, but I'm disappointed that you have to pay for another subscription if you get another camera or device. You can of course not do that, though. I'm thinking of another camera but I'm not sure about the second subscription. The sub is nice and I have caught some cute moments that I would otherwise have missed. But it is a monthly charge. The only mishap we had was the camera falling down because the kitten grabbed the cord. He likes to bite cords, but hasn't bothered it since that one time. I like to use the mic to say hi once in a while and he always perks up! Haven't used the siren because I'm afraid to.
The cameras can be mounted upside down in a window frame and the picture reversed 180 in settings so the image is right side up . Rename the camera’s in settings for fast identification. You can increase or decrease the movement sensor for your needs . I have 3 camera’s and a camera doorbell and my internet has not slowed at all . With the app on your phone you can monitor your house from anywhere. This has helped with package deliveries and even chasing stray dogs away . If you have Roku devices on your TVs you can download the app and look through your cameras on your tv screen and see what’s happening outside your house at any given time . You can talk to the person at your door through your tv or cell phone app from anywhere . I have personally had a woman at 9:59 pm peeking through the windows of my house . When confronted she asked for a glass of water . I live in the country secluded from other houses . I would have never known she walked up and was outside without the camera notifying me . The wireless doorbell charges just like a cell phone and easily removes with included tool so you can bring it in the house for charging . I have only had the doorbell rang once because the cameras have notified me of someone being on my property before they could get close to my house and I see this as a huge advantage . An indicator on the app shows how much power is left at all times . You can zoom in with the camera to get a better look at objects . The door bell comes with an optional wedge mount so you can angle the camera in the direction of your choosing . I have poodles that I let out often and the camera shows me where they are and I get notifications when they are at the back door ready to come back inside . I have all four sides of my house covered with these cameras and feel safer being able to monitor my house at all times from anywhere. My pre teen kids have the app on their phones and will not go to the door or outside to see who has driven up without checking through the cameras first . We have a camera pointed at our grandkids play area so if they are outside playing after school we have the camera pulled up on a 75 inch tv and can watch and listen to them while we are in the house making dinner . Make an account on Roku.com and besides being able to manage your cameras you can manage your Roku TVS. If you download an app Roku installs it on all your televisions on your registered account at once rather then you moving from tv to tv and installing it yourself . Pay for a channel through Roku and Roku monitors your subscription and lets you see when a free membership or reduced price is ending so you can cancel before being charged . If deals on channels come up they will let you know . I still bargain shop subscriptions but love the Roku.com for keeping all my cameras and Roku TVs in one place for management .
These are perfect, people say that the quality is bad which is not true the quality is really good for a $24 camera. These cameras are perfect for watching your pets, with the sad card you can choose to record only motion detected events, which would keep the sad card from getting full fast. But if you only want to watch live you wouldn’t need the subscription or a sad card!
great! use quite a bit, excellent quality image even at night. i can record with our without sound. can speak thru the app. once the 2 week trial ends, it stops automatically recording and will only take a snapshot when motion detected but use an sd card and when u are notified you can press record thru the app. to see recordings when you only have the SD card, don't go to events you have to go to album. (in live feed, there are 3 dots on the bottom right. press that and u will see album.) pleasantly surprised. couldn't have asked for better and the price is great!
Connecting and installing my cameras was very easy. It gives me a sense of security and a peace of mind being that I can view clear live feeds and go back to events thru my phone or on my Roku tv. I will definitely purchase again. And highly recommend the Roku camera to others.
I just recently bought this product just for indoor surveillance when im not home. not for anything major. I really dont care about it being able to record. i just really wanted to see what happening right then and there. real time. im not sure what features work and dont work after your 14 day free trial is up. I'll have to play around with it. one feature I just discovered yesterday was the alarm. when ever you see something suspicious you can activate the alarm. its pretty loud and will get someones attention.
I like the quality of the camera a lot but I’m very very disappointed that the camera gets hacked into very easily. I read into it quit a bit and a lot of other people have the same issue and Roku does nothing to fix the problem. I don’t have the subscription so there is no reason for motion recording when I’m not live streaming through the app but the solid red light comes on frequently and that indicates the camera is being viewed. Me and my girlfriend are the only ones with access to the account and there has been several instances were we both were not on are phones and the solid red light comes on indicating sombody is watching. This is very disappointing as I’ve had several cameras around my house for a while but had to unplug them all and now they just sit in a cabinet due to not wanting a stranger watch us. I’ve reset the device several times and trouble shot it as well and nothing seems to fix the issue.I wish Roku could fix the issue but I’ve read on there page many other people have the same issue and they never give a real answer or solution. I love the quality and night vision mode it all works great but if you don’t wanna be watched by strangers I don’t recommend this product.
I got scammed by using the Roku QU code Inside the box. The QR code brought me to a page that looks like the Roku app. After I registered and left my CC information I still couldn’t get the Roku mobile App . What I did get was two(2) scam subscription services that claim to offer free 4 day trial. I was unable to contact the scammers by phone, text, or email But they charged my card $50.00!!! X 2 = $100.00 I bought 3 security cameras only to get scammed by using Roku instructions!!! Tried contacting Roku but no at all. It’s been a WEEK without any help from Roku.
