Very dissatisfied. Power runs out after two uses. Very little power compared to my original one that is over 30 years old

As a hygienist, I have used a Rotadent for years. When my older Rotadent would no longer hold a charge, I ordered a new Rotadent. However, the new handle will not charge. I have attempted several remedies such as ensuring the handle is firmly in the base, the base is level, plugged into a different outlet. Still now charge after 48 hours.

Charge indicator light never came on and Rotadent electric toothbrush never charged in 24 hours.
