Rough Country 1.5" Rear Shackle Relocation Kit (fits) 1984-2001 Jeep Cherokee XJ | 1117

Been running 5. 5” lifted springs for years, and the shackle to frame contact over bumps has been something I've lived with. Found this product and finally decided to do something about it. The instructions are great, and made for a relatively simple install, with a major improvement in stance and no more clunking shackles! Only one snag which the instructions warned about, with exhaust interference on the passenger lower shackle bolt, but a little zawzall work made that a nonissue. I'm very pleased with the quality and performance of this product, as well as Rough Country's top notch customer service. Highly recommend!

After tackling the long arm lift install in a very cramped 1 car garage i found two things off. Rear pinion angle and shackle angle. Bought and installed an sye with RCs rear driveshaft and these. Everything is right where its supposed to be now. Added front coil spacers to offset the rear bracketsbeing dropped and im good to go now!

I needed the extra lift in the rear to level out the lift around 6 inches. I'm really enjoying the ride quality. Now I need longer shocks to get the full potential of the added travel. I did have to drill lot the main bolt hole in the unibody bracket as it was not straight to line up the bolt hole. 30 second fix after a few f-bombs. Great product as usual

I installed this shackle relocation kit on my '96 XJ at the same time with a RC X-series 4.5" lift, and a RC control arm drop bracket kit, and RC shackles . The rear shackle angle is adjustable with this kit, and affords a much improved ride quality over stock, or a lifted XJ! You will gain an inch or 2 of rear lift with this relocation kit , depending on what holes you install the shackles in. In order to get rid of the " stink bug" look, I installed a JKS Acos set to the front of my XJ. I had to adjust the Acos system about 1" to properly level the vehicle. The shackle relocation kit was super easy to install, once I got the old factory shackle hardware off! Be prepared for a lot of sweat and cussing if you are removing factory hardware in the rear from a 21 year old XJ!

I just finished the install on my 95 xj and it was quick and easy! Parts fit perfect and bolted right in. I was surprised to see that there aren't many shackle relocation options out there let alone a bolt in set up. I used loctite for the bolts to the frame and i may run a bead along the edges to increase the strength. The brackets supplied were stout and should live up to tons of trail abuse. I gained about 1.25 inches lift and was able to correct my uncomfortable shackle angle. this also made it possible for me to run Rubicon express 5.5 lift springs and adjust my shackle accordingly! Just what I needed 6" lift long arm , brought my rear up a 1" and made my rear end work . Rear is stiff . But with the relo it made the suspension work a bit

Worked great, I have a 2000 xj and being in Minnesota everything is rusty so I used these when I put my lift in and the solved the rusted out hole problem for me. Super easy to install and good quality.

Installed these on my 01 xj along with a 4.5 inch lift. They are made very well, do a great job of reinforcing the rear leaf spring mount and worked great for allowing me to make adjustments to the rear end and alow the shackle to move.

These relocation brackets are well built and fit very well. They gave me about 1 3/4” of lift in the rear. Only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because I had to run a tap through one of the weld nuts because it was ever so slightly not concentric with the bolt hole. It was just barely enough for the bolt not to thread in. Otherwise, the brackets are great.

In my book this is a must have kit for any lifted jeep cherokee. Great flex while keeping the rear tires on the ground. The only challenge I have had installing this kit is removing the stock top shackle bolt if it is corroded. Otherwise it is a great kit, strong and affordable.
