Rough Country 2.5" Lift Kit w/N3 Shocks for 1980-1996 F-150 2WD - 42230

I have used this lift kit more than once. These lift kits are quality. These lift kits fit very well. One thing that I don't like in the last kit that I received. is the plastic rear lift blocks not a fan! The one front drop bracket you have to drill two holes. In the past these brackets came pre drilled not sure what has changed. Lot of guys will talk trash but as a former shop owner (4x4 Unlimited) out of Newark Delaware I have installed hundreds of these kits! Now the year is 2026 these 90s trucks are old you need to look at every bushing , ball joints , tie rods ect don't just throw the lift kit on and cry it drives like crap when more than likely the truck is worn out ! I see so many guys on forms facebook groups talking trash yet most the time it's the installer or the truck is clapped out ! You can't go wrong with these kits if installed correctly!

The kit was easy to put on. . it took me about 4 hours. My 2004 f150 with the 2. 5 level kit, I able to run 315/70/r17 with no rubbing on finders just a little rub on bars at full turn. Not enough to worry with. Great kit leveling kit . . truck rides better than ever and a super ride while pulling my 20' ranger boat .

It took me about 4 days (about 4 hours each day) to install this 2. 5 inch lift. It's looks great! My stock tire size was 235/75r15, and I went to a 285/75/r16 with some minor rubbing. I'm getting all kinds of attention when I drive it now, I've even been asked to sell it a few times. Thank you rough country!

Whenever you order the kit go ahead and order a couple 1/2 and a 9/16 drill bit and a spring compressor (if you don't have these already). Then gather up a couple sets of jack stands or some blocks, you'll need them. This is a little time consuming and you had better have some mechanical skills and tools, but it is completely doable at home in your barn. It is a really good made kit, that's why I ordered it from rough country. Wish the brackets were marked somehow but if you think it through you shouldn't have a problem. I definitely takes some time to put in, I did it in evening for couple days after work and it took most of the week. With that being said, like I said before this is a good made kit and everything fits really nice, like it's supposed to. I would definitely recommend this kit. It's a little intimidating at first but if you have some automotive knowledge you'll be fine.

Installed this kit on my 2020 F150 and the ride quality is amazing! Truck sits nice and level and looks great. Able to run 35x12. 50-20 on stock wheels with no major trimming or cutting.

Did install myself and it was very easy and seems to be very good quality, still waiting on wheels and tires to be delivered then my 3 inch lift will be complete.

Second purchase of this kit. Redone wife's truck and she liked the handle and ride with this kit so we put a new kit in when we redone truck. Great product. When I received the kit there were no rear shocks in kit so I called and they sent the shocks right to me. Great customer service.

Easy to install. Great customer service they sent the wrong rear blocks. When I called they were easy to talk to and shipped the right blocks the same day.

Rough country lifts are one of the best that I've dealt with their support team are awesome. I will only buy my lifts and accessories at rough country for my trucks and jeeps. Thanks for everything.
