Installed the 3” suspension kit with a buddy. Install was straight forward and the results are great! Ride height and ground clearance are noticeable improved. Suspension is much firmer than stock but doesn't bother me…rides like a truck and I use it for truck stuff so I like it. Feels stable and planted compared to the super soft stock setup. Alignment was a pice of cake too. Just finished a 1500 mile drive through mountains and backroads and everything worked well. Would recommend and would buy again!
Great looks, rides rougher, but the wife is fine with the ride quality because she loves the way it sits now. 5 stars though. P. s. you don't have to remove the axle nut on the front hubs… and if you do be SURE not to overtighten the nut. Learned that the hard way lol.
Worked great
High quality parts easy installation very satisfied with the install truck looks great
I've been riding on it for a week or So, now and it feel better then the stock ride I had with a 200k mileage excursion. With this kit I also installed the dual steer stabilizers and replace front shackle bushing. I also order from a different site front sway bar links and bushing and installed a completely bushing kit in the rear. I pressed out every bushing and installed new ones. Ride is I feel like new and it changed the look of the car as well. With this lift I'm running a 315/75r16. Only rub I got was on the wind deflector under the stock front bumper. Slight trim and I'm good to go even with flex.
There were a few reasons why we went with Rough Country for our suspension upgrade. One was the fact that they claimed their kit would re-center the rear wheels on the Ford Expedtion, which was spot on. Second, my wife wanted a leveled out ride with a little bit a of a lift. This did not disappoint. Third we wanted to have a better ride not only day to day, but with towing. The ride, in our opinion, is much better than stock, as we are not a fan of the somewhat smooth bouncy feeling when going over bumps ans such. The ride is a little stiffer, closer to a truck ride, but impressively smooth. If you are driving an Expedition and considering a level-lift kit, my recommendation is this one by Rough Country.
For what you get with this lift kit makes it well worth the cost! Not everyone can afford the big names and this kit allows you to play with the big names and save a bunch of money doing so. Instructions need to be updated but if you have some mechanical ability instructions are not always necessary.
I installed this kit on my 2023 Expedition Timberline and did not have any issues. For anyone wondering if this fits the Timberline, it does. After installing the lift, the truck was sitting high in the rear. I removed the pre-load spacers and it sits perfectly level now. I am running 295/60R20 Ridge Grapplers and do not have any rubbing, no trimming. The rear tires are also centered in the wheel well, which other lifts do not accomplish. Overall I am happy with this lift and would recommend it to anyone looking.
The directions are good. The installation was easy. The mayerials was great. I actually enjoyed installing this. Modified 2001 excursion from 2wd to 4wd. Then used rc lift. Didn't use the rear blocks or u bolts amd used factory setup from f350 and worked perfect. Leveled vehicle and looks good. Waiting on driveline to drive it and see how much better it rides!
I wasn't sure about which kit to go for 3 or 5 inch but I knew it was RC for sure. I chose the 3 inch lift (family rig) was able to clear 35 inch tires just fine. I also ordered the premium shocks and that made a big difference I believe in the way my 05 excursion rides. It would have got 5 stars if the instructions were a little more clear. This was my first attempt on a diesel lift but with the help of a buddy ( his first time too) we managed to get it done.
