Bronco lift
Just what I expected! Excellent product
I have installed many lift kits and for the money this was a great kit. I would be surprised if the more expensive kits would ride any better. Good instructions and the quality/finish of the brackets and springs were so much better than the rough country lifts I stopped using years ago. A client wanted me to buy this kit and I told him my reservations with a “cheap” lift. I was very happy with this one. The brake lines I bought along with this from rough country were great and fit perfect. If your rear spring shackle is old plan ahead to get a new bushing or in my case I bought a new loaded shackle from Oreillys. Good job on this kit Rough Country!!
I did this same lift on my 78 f150 long bed and was so pleased I had to bring my beloved 78 bronco up to the same height.....everything went pretty smooth on the install and I can't wait to get it on the road and cruise it I am still doing some finishing touches on the project so haven't had a chance to take it out for its first bouncy ride yet..rough country has it figured out pretty good i would say
Ordered this lift for my 1987 Bronco II XLT. Installed this lift entirely by myself, took roughly 20 hours with basic hand tools and using air tools where space permitted. One note you will need a special oversized socket to remove the nut that holds down the bottom of the front coil springs and another large socket to remove the nut for the pitman arm. The biggest pain in the rear for installing lifts on these vehicles is grinding down the rivets that hold most of the brackets to the car. All in all everything went together very very smoothly. Its not a lot of hard work, its a lot of tedious work. If you have basic mechanical skills you can knock this out in a weekend with a buddy or two. Also of note, the recommended tire size for this lift is a 31x10.5. With no other lift besides this 4 inch lift I was able to clear a set of 33x12.5 on 15x10 rims, 4 inch backspace, -38mm offset, with no fender rubbing.
This kit fit well and was easy to install! Geometry of the suspension is all together great, and truck is much more reactive. I had a faulty shock come in, and was able to call and talk to someone imediately. After a couple of troubleshooting steps in the shock, they offered to overnight me a new one! Great service and a great product. Only a few things I would suggest to improve; a total instruction set (rather than the 3 or 4 sets in different boxes) would be helpful, and t would be nice if ya'll offered extended break lines and sway bar drop links for 79 Bronco, but hey, most people don't
I have 1986 ford bronco ii xlt automatic 4wd and I had my kit installed at a shop. Everything went smoothly. The only problem (just like another review mentioned) was that I needed extended brake lines. Other than that it drives great and gives a really good look and clearance. Thank you rough country for a solid kit.
Haven't installed yet but looks very quality and tech support was a huge help ordering the correct quad shocks and telling me the placement of each part number. Had to find the boots separately which the website used to just have drop down option of all the accessories you could get with your lift. I liked that better. Great products though I've beat the 4” on my 79 f-250 to death and it still looks and performs great!!!
Still waiting for parts. I really love Rough Country suspensions. I have a 4" Rough Country in my Super Duty and in my opinion you get the most bang for the buck also their warranty is awesome along with their tech support......Hands down a wonderful company!!!
Haven't installed yet but it looks good and arrived fast! One thing I would like to have seen was couple decals to show off that I have Rough Country stuff on my truck. Shocks are blank, no sticker for my window, nothing for the garage...cmon man FREE ADVERTISING!
