It looks clunky but it's not. It's light and practical. The iron itself is light and has plenty of steam holes for coverage on fabric. At first I thought I wouldn't like it but now I can't believe I ever doubted buying it. The water trough holds plenty of water so I rarely have to fill it. My previous Rowenta recommended I empty the iron between uses. It's. I've not to have to do that on this model. It has plenty of steam to get out all the wrinkles. I'm impressed.
My first time out, I ironed two pairs of linen slacks and a linen shirt and I never had to slow down even for a second. This steam flowed continuously and did an amazing job. Sorry I didn't get this steaming station sooner. And thank you for Rowenta, for the sale. I probably wouldn't have gotten it if not for the amazing price.
I've had "irons" that fall into the Fisher Price Suzy Homemaker category all of my life. I am a professional sewist, for over 30 years. I own a quilt business. I make quilts all day every day. This is a full grown adult Iron. This is the iron you need if like myself you sew every single day of your life and you want those seams flat flat flat. I love the ease of use, I love the power, I love the super hot temperature, I love the steam, I love the weight, I love that I can go a few days without having to fill the tank. This iron is exactly what I expected, and more than I wanted. It is the best investment in Gladsew Quilts that I've made in years. Thank You Rowenta! Don't waste your money on suzy homemaker irons. Buy This.
I have had Rowena irons for the past 30 + years but I wanted to step up and get a version that would make the task much easier. As a textile artist that creates clothing and accessories my iron gets heavy use. I love this unit as you can control the use of steam on demand rather than having to change the setting like the previous models I've had. Also, the ability to fill the reservoir with plenty of water and not have to constantly add is so appreciated. This is especially helpful when I am pressing large orders like for the O'Keeffe museum where pressing 50 to 60 silk scarves iper order is the norm. I will recommend this iron to my seamstress!
The steam station is absolutely a great product. My reason is the effort in ironing for me is now a joy. I have used the Rowenta iron for decades but never used the steam station. I can perform my iron experience with ease and quality results!
This is my 3rd Rowenta steam station, which don't include an iron so I must love the brand. By far this is the best one I have own, my previous ones didn't have auto shut off but this one does.
Works well, not as well as the more expensive models. I've had four of them. At the price they are now, and still only partial warranty for one year, I decided to settle for less. The lifespan of the more expensive models is approximately 3 years, despite my scrupulously following maintenance recommendations. Nothing better, but enough is enough.
I bought this for my daughter. I have a different version of the steam station and it is outstanding. The one I just purchased must be a cheaper version, even tho it was expensive. The steam does not come out unless I keep pumping the button. I hold mine down for a continuous steam, but this version is harder to get steady steam. When my daughter used it, she said it spit brown water on her white dress. While it is better than a regular steam iron, it's not the same quality as the model I have.
I am very disappointed in this product. It does not steam as it is advertised. It only steams out of the top triangle of the iron, not all 400 steam holes. It does in fact spit water. I had it replaced once and the second time they did not offer replacement but told me that you only see the steam from tje tip of the iron. Very sad
It doesn't have the same amount of steam as my old one, but it doesn't spit like my old one did. I also did not realize that it turns off. As a quilter that is a minus, however it works well and I like it well enough.
