Royal & Langnickel Essentials - 171pc Mixed Media Art Set, for Beginner to Advanced Artists

This kit was unlike any other kit that I’ve bought for students or my own children. The mixed media component is fun and interesting to have all these materials together The watercolor choices of colors are fantastic. The texture is also really nice. The mixed media paper is definitely thicker and nice to work with. I used oil pastels, watercolor and colored pencil all together to make the sun and it withheld all materials. My daughter used acrylics and watercolor together and the paper and materials she loved.

WOW, what an excellent mix media kit for the money. A great and inexpensive way to get started or experiment in these different medias. The quality of these supplies are professional artist grade products. This kit contains all the supplies you need to create artwork without having to purchase more supplies. The brushes are a nice set and good quality. I would always recommend these brushes; I have painted with them for over 30 years. There is a nice selection of colors in all the paint sets. The acrylics have good coverage, smooth, creamy, mix well to create new colors and dry quickly. When working with the watercolor cakes the results were lighter and more transparent than the watercolor tubes. The oil pastels are not very vibrant, waxy and didn’t blend well. I would have preferred less variety of the oil pastels and a larger variety of the acrylic or watercolor tubes or colored pencils. The colored pencils are bright, colorful and blend well. The set of 4 graded drawing pencils, eraser and sharpener are also a great addition to this kit. The mixed media paper is thicker and nice to work with. With the holidays approaching, this kit would make an amazing Christmas present.

Me and my 9 year old opened this set to find lots of exciting art supplies at good quality. We were excited to find plenty of paper, both drawing and mixed media. There was a painting palette and beautiful art pencils! We couldn’t get over the quality for the price. I will be buying this for many gifts! Great deal!

This is a great set for beginners. It has everything they need to create masterpieces. I bought for my 6 y/o grandson and he’s able to use it with ease.

Love this art set! I ended up buying more for my grandkids! High-quality paint and brushes as well as extras! Paint covers well and blends easily. We had two painting parties and still have more left for other projects. Fantastic Find!

I ordered this product because I liked that it offered a variety of art mediums for my teenage daughter to experiment with. All in one kit were oil paints, acrylic paints, watercolors, colored pencils, pastels, etc. I thought this would be a great (and inexpensive!) way for her to get started making art.
