Royal & Langnickel Watercolor Pencil Set - 24pc

These pencils are in beautiful shades, go on the paper/canvas nicely and give great results! The only negative I have, and I guess it was my own fault for not reading more carefully, is that they are not the standard pencil length! They are half size! I will have to reorder sooner than expected, which I guess was their purpose...lol

I paint cards, portraits for my friends, family and Church families for their birthdays and anniversaries or just for encouragement. I use these colored watercolor pencils when I paint portraits for fine details of their faces, hands, etc. I have much better control with the pencils than I do with watercolor or acrylic paint for such detail work. I would recommend this product for it's low price and fine pigment.

I haven't used the Waterproof Pencils as of yet but, I am looking forward to using them soon. The pencils are nice, the colors are the same as the coloring pencils. I like that I can use them as coloring pencils as well as with water when I want the paint look. I think these pencils will color flowers and grass very well. I will purchase these pencils again in the future.

They are just wonderful, the quality of the colors is great, is better than I thought.

LOVE these. Id suggest testing out how wet you get them/various techniques before committing to a picture so you know what you're doing, but the colors you get from this are bold and beautiful.

These pencils are, next to acrylics, my new favorite way to art journal. They are easy to use by coloring on the paper and then wetting a brush and going over your design. This is a pack of 24 watercolor pencils, including black.. There is also a white pencil but it seems almost useless when it comes to lightening something that you've drawn. I would have preferred another color instead, though some people might really enjoy using the white pencil for other uses. You can also wet a brush and then touch it to the tip of your pencil to get some color, though you won't get enough to fill up the brush. Another option is to use a sharp edge of a knife and shave off tiny specks of the color over your page. Then you can take a spray bottle to mix the colors around. One word of caution: these aren't professional artist quality watercolor pencils. While these are more affordable, they aren't going to be something you'll want to use if you have aspirations of selling your work. They are a great beginner set for those just getting into watercolor pencils. One method I've found of enhancing the color is by using the pencils and coloring using a water brush. Then I go over the image in certain sections with higher quality watercolors to add some extra depth. This is a great way to save money. I would suggest using them on at least 140lb watercolor paper and nothing much thinner than that. If you're wanting to get started using watercolors or watercolor pencils, I suggest this set. They are good for the price and since I use them for art journaling, they are great for my needs.

I like my professional colored pencils a little softer/creamier than these, but these layered really nicely. I was able to build up color and richness. The color names were misleading. When I think of Scarlet I want a true red, almost a blood red, but this one was more orange, like a deep salmon. But the color called salmon was a light peach skin tone. The colors were all very warm ad I didn't get a dark blue. Having said my critiques, these are nice pencils and I enjoyed using them and will continue to use them for more portraits.

This item came damaged with multiple pencil tips broken off inside the package. I sharpened them but it seems the material in the pencil is broken. sort of disappointed and i will have to order more sooner. They work decently well though. i have no experience with any other water color pencils for comparison.
