Royal P80 Electric Pencil Sharpener

I bought this for my classroom. Works great!

I have bought 2 of these. The first one didn't work, but I replaced it and have had the 2nd one for 3 months in my classroom and love it! It sharpens fast and easy. Love the light that tells you when it's sharp.

I purchased my first sharpener for my middle school math classroom. Most of my students use mechanical pencils so it doesn't get a ton of use. It stopped working within 2 weeks. I brought it back to Sam's and they gladly replaced it. The 2nd one lasted about a month. Between the colored pencils jamming and any little piece of lead getting stuck, and the shaving receptacle not fitting tight requiring holding it closed to sharpen and today, it stopped all together. I'm not even going to bother returning it again. I'm once again spending money on another sharpener.

I am a math and reading teacher and work with split classes. The first pencil sharpener I bought lasted 3 days with only being used during one hour with 12 students. The second one lasted a week. Unfortunately, I purchased one for a friend and exchanged the two defective ones. After being used for less than two weeks for an hour a day, none are working. In total, 0 out of the 5 lasted longer than two weeks and were only used an hour a day. I'm very disappointed! I was excited to find a pencil sharpener that held a lot of pencil shavings, but would have never wasted my money and time had I known how defective of a pencil sharpener it is.

Same exact thing - was bought for personal use and it barely made it three weeks before it stopped working. I will be returning to the battery desk model I had for years.

This stopped working the first time I emptied the pencil shavings (after one day of use). There are no trouble-shooting directions in the package. I exchanged it in the store for another one but, now that I have read the reviews, I wish I had just gotten my money back. We will see how it goes.

This is my second P80, after the first one did not work out of the box. I took that back to Sams Club and exchanged it - this one worked out of the box, but just for 10 days, now its broken again. Why sell something that everyone is complaining about it's quality - send them all back to the supplier and call it quits!!!

I bought this pencil sharpener for my son to take to his college dorm. He called three weeks later and asked what he should do with the sharpener that never worked. I told him to throw it in the trash, rather than pay for shipping back. I have since looked at reviews and everyone says this doesn't work nobody gave it above a 1. Every single person says this did not work when they opened it. I'm really disappointed they sell a broken product.

I teach school and thought that this product would be great in my sixth grade classroom. It did not last long in the class. I finally bought the students the little plastic dime store sharpeners. I cannot afford to buy a new sharpener every year. I trusted the ROYAL name brand for years.. but this has kinda turned me off. Sorry.

I purchased the sharpener for my 90 year old father who is a poet and loves to write with pencils. The sharpener was not used excessively, but within about 2 months the sharpener stopped working. The cord is not frayed, the receptacle is seated properly and there are very few pencil shavings in the receptacle. There is obviously a defect in the product and I do not recommend it.
