Royal Red African Milk Tree - Euphorbia trigona - 2.5" Pot

It is so cute! Still growing leaves and is very healthy. No blossoms yet as it's too young. Keeping it with other plants in Alcove in Living Room.

It's really different and a rare plant. If I didn't happen to see a description of the plant I never would have bought it,but very happy I did.

I had previously grown one of these that lasted approximately thirty-five years. It ended up being over eight feet tall before being attacked by a fungus. I decided to try again and bought one of these royal red varieties. It came in a 2 ½ inch pot, as advertised, and was about the same height as the pot. In just under four months, I have it do move it to a larger pot and it is already about five inches tall. New leaves are consistently showing up. These plants are easy to grow and require minimal maintenance. If they are over watered, the plant will get mushy and die. If under watered, they will simply stop growing. It is almost like hibernation. They prefer a sandier soil, but can do well with standard potting soil. With the fungus that killed my big one, the signs are obvious: the outer skin of the larger branches begins to turn brown and look almost like bark.
